<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The AV Technician supports audiovisual services for events at the Wisconsin Union locations, along with other locations hosting events planned by Campus Events Services Office. With direction from AV Supervisors, the AV Technician will work with a team of full-time, part-time and student staff in the planning and execution of audiovisual support for a wide range of in-person and hybrid events, with a primary focus of in-person meetings and conferences.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Provides assistance with set-up, installation, and operation of increasingly complex and varied audio-visual (AV) hardware, software, and associated systems. Prepares rooms, venues, or events with proper AV equipment to ensure proper functionality and security according to client requests and business needs.</p> <ul> <li>60% Sets up, installs, upgrades, configures, troubleshoots, adjusts, and connects audio, visual, lighting, computer equipment, and peripherals in various environments for events, academic instruction, or meetings according to established requirements and requests </li><li>10% Tests, maintains, and provides recommendations for alternative hardware and software options to ensure proper functionality, security requirements, and business needs are met </li><li>15% Provides consultation and answers questions regarding AV equipment and functionality to individuals and groups based on set material and standards </li><li>15% Trains, works with and mentors student staff on basic AV and event support. </li></ul> <p>Institutional Statement on Diversity:</p> <p>Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.</p> <p>Student Affairs is led by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
