In CPS, we believe all children are capable of achieving their personal</p> <p>best by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for school and classroom environments.</p> <p>The school system educates over 6,200 students in 11 schools, including a pre-K-1st grade</p> <p>school, 4 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, a virtual school, and 2 high schools. More information about CPS can be found on our website at</p> <p>www.chelseaschools.com/cps.</p> <p>About Reach Program:</p> <p>REACH is a comprehensive, innovative out-of-school dropout prevention program designed to</p> <p>support educational pathways for Chelsea Public School (CPS) high school students. The program</p> <p>focuses on college and career readiness, students' academic and career preparation, social and</p> <p>emotional learning, and provides mental health support.Group Leaders (GLs) are the heart of the REACH program. They are responsible for mentoring students and fostering connections among them. GLs also manage student attendance and participation, playing a critical role in providing the additional support that students need to thrive in the program.</p> <p>Location: Chelsea High School, 299 Everett Ave, Chelsea, MA.</p> <p>General Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Design and lead activities and projects to build group pride and identity; </li><li>Assist tutors in supporting students with their homework responsibilities; </li><li>Serve as role models that demonstrate and emphasize the high expectations of the </li><li>program; attend weekly staff meetings to debrief the week's activities and plan for the </li><li>coming activities; </li><li>Build relationships with families through weekly phone calls. </li><li>Tracking student attendance </li><li>Supporting students academically </li><li>Creating activities that will help students with project based and social-emotional learning </li><li>Encourage students to participate in activities </li><li>Connect with parents </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in education, youth development, and/or a youth-serving program; </li><li>Relevant experience working with youth and demonstrated ability to engage high school </li><li>youth; </li><li>Demonstrated experience with and commitment to education and community-based </li><li>learning; </li><li>Experience working with multicultural populations; </li><li>Experience and comfort using computers and email; </li><li>Passion and commitment to providing creative education-based after-school services to </li><li>the youth of Chelsea; </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse groups of people; </li><li>Ability to provide/receive constructive feedback; </li><li>Demonstrated time and project management skills in a fast-paced environment; </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and over the phone. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum education: two years college completion.
