<p>Social/Emotional/Behavioral Specialist - Special Education Department 2026-2027 School Year JobID: 502</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Student Support Services</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>4/27/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Special Education</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>05/29/2026</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Certification as School Social Worker</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure through the LA State Board of Social Work Examiners or be eligible for same</p> </li><li> <p>School Social Work experience preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Licensed Clinical Social Worker Required</p> </li><li> <p>Certification requirements as outlined in Louisiana Bulletin 746 OR</p> </li><li> <p>Certification as a Teacher</p> </li><li> <p>Certified through the state of Louisiana</p> </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Other certified/licensed mental/behavioral health professional </li></ul> <p>AND</p> <ul> <li>Training/certification in ABA Therapy or other behavior therapy, preferred. </li><li>Physical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, tasks and duties. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Special Education</p> <p>SUPERVISES: Non-Applicable</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Months</p> <p>PAY FACTOR: 1.200</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To efficiently and effectively assist students with special needs by providing professional development, job-embedded training, assessments, consultations and technical assistance to teachers, family and other school personnel in regards to the mental wellbeing and behavior concerns of those students.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists with implementation and development of BIPs</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts Threat Assessments</p> </li><li> <p>Assists school personnel in the design and implementation of appropriate behavioral interventions, social skills training, and teaching activities for students</p> </li><li> <p>Provides counseling and therapeutic interventions to students</p> </li><li> <p>Provides consultations with school personnel (including classroom teams) and parents/guardians regarding behavioral concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts classroom observations and provides modeling at the school level to assist school staff members with conducting positive behavioral supports and classroom management techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Provides or assists with in-service training of school personnel as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Provides collaborative support services for students via consultation with teachers and parents/guardians</p> </li><li> <p>Assists families with community and/or mental health resources</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures confidentiality of all students and records</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate case records regarding referrals in accordance with the requirements of parish, state, and federal laws, regulations, and/or policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends staff meetings including district behavior meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps abreast of new developments in the area of expertise and keeps other appropriate school personnel informed of the same.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps appropriate written documentation of related services and contacts required for billing.</p> </li><li> <p>Inputs recorded documentation into the computerized billing system in a timely manner to ensure reimbursement.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides crisis intervention on all school campuses for students as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends to child welfare concerns and makes reports on all school campuses for students as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs any additional duties assigned by the superintendent and/or evaluator.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports to work on time.</p> </li><li> <p>Displays professional ethics on and off duty.</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to all Iberville Parish School Board's Policies</p> </li><li> <p>Reports job-related injuries within 24 hours of a work accident to the immediate supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Assumes responsibility for implementation of emergency procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Seeks and maintains a positive attitude of promoting school and community relations.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in and promotes harmonious working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and community members.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends meetings as directed.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves on task force and decision-making committees, when appropriate.</p> </li></ul> <p>NOTE: This job description is a summary of the primary duties and responsibilities of the position.
