<p>Basic Function</p> <p>Document the production history of the Department of Theatre, the Music Theatre program, and the Eisner Center at Denison, by creating a digital archive consisting of photos, video, program information, production team information, and related evidence of past performance. Collate and curate this collection for future inclusion in departmental web pages, in keeping with industry practice, in order to offer prospective students and employees a perspective on the history and types work that we produce and the scale of theatrical production, as well as a public record of the use of our multiple performance spaces in Eisner. This will also serve alums, archiving and making available their undergraduate work for personal and professional use. The Theatre Archivist will collaborate with the Managing Director of the Eisner Center, Chair of Theatre, Academic Coordinator, and University Archives & Special Collections. They will collaborate with University Communication to ensure smooth transition to website inclusion.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <p>Researches previous theatre productions using both current digital materials and those found in the University archives.</p> <p>Documents the production history by year, including photos, programs, production team, any unique information, or production descriptions.</p> <p>Curates small representative photo collections for each production from Eisner archives, University Archives, and/or University Communications photo management system.</p> <p>Collaborates with University Communications to ensure accurate translation from research to the departmental webpages.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>B.A. (or anticipated B.A. by June 2025) with preferred degree field (major/minors) a combination of Theatre or a related performance field and archival work or history or digital humanities or a related field).</p> <p>Experience (professional or as part of education) in archival work, either digital or physical (preferred experience creating archives related to theatre and performing arts, either in a professional or educational context)</p> <p>Experience in theatre and performing arts, either professionally or as part of education (preferred experience in dramaturgy)</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge of theatre production structures and teams</p>
