<p>Salary commensurate with experience: $85,000 to $100,000 / annual (exempt)</p> <p>Full Time: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm</p> <p>Hybrid - Office/Field and Home</p> <ul> <li>Majority of our positions are remote, but services are provided either hybrid or in person </li></ul> <p>Benefits and Perks: Supportive, fun and friendly team environment!</p> <ul> <li>Clients/Families we serve reside in the South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and Lynwood area. </li></ul> <p>SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.</p> <p>Responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Providing supervision and clinical support for Family Mental Health Therapists and Mental Health Resource Specialist. </li><li>Coordinating clinical support services to participants to assist with goal setting, linkages and referral resources. </li><li>Monitoring team members work. Perform administrative and supervisory duties to include billing, Q.A. Reports, administering grants, review of clinical documentation and training new staff. </li><li>May represent Mental Health Administration and/or Management at community meetings. </li><li>Understanding of all SAPC and DMH specific documentations </li></ul> <p>Primary Duties:</p> <p>Depending on specific program assignment, may perform any or all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain on-going supervision with Program Administrator and clinical staff within Juvenile Justice Programs. </li><li>Will be responsible for on-going communication/collaboration with the SHIELDS Mental Health QA Coordinator. </li><li>Assist in the weekly review of clinical documentation. Provide appropriate feedback to staff and follow up on necessary corrections. </li><li>Participant and co facilitated monthly case conferences with MH, MHRS staff and therapists. </li><li>Consult with staff on case problems and legal/ethical issues. Review all child abuse reports prior to submission to DCFS and SHIELDS administration. </li><li>Responsible for providing clinical documentation training to new staff in the program. </li><li>Plan, develop, and participate in staff development and other staff training activities. </li><li>Collaborate with consumers, other professional staff and outside agencies when terminating treatment and referring clients to other resources. </li><li>Network with peers in other community service agencies to share ideas and resources, develop effective programs, solve common problems and maintain a professional network of referral sources for mental health services. </li><li>Participate in professional development activities (FFT/MST seminars, DMH workshops) in order to maintain and enhance personal and professional competencies. </li><li>May represent Program Coordinator at community meetings if necessary. </li><li>Assist in facilitating a client being placed on a 5150 or voluntary hospitalization, either by accompanying the client/family to the Psychiatric Hospital, or by contacting the PET Team/Police to have the client placed on 5150 hold. </li><li>Reviews staff charts and documentation of client services, ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures, Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies' standards and guidelines. </li><li>Develops and maintains supervisory skills through seminars, workshops, or other forms of training/education related to working with juveniles/adults with a history of mental illness. </li><li>Attends and participates in program, Agency staff meetings; and related community agency meetings as required/requested. </li><li>Assist with opening and assessments of client's assigned to the MHRS staff or staff not yet registered with the board of behavioral health. </li><li>Assist staff in handling crisis clients by giving them guidance and direction as to the appropriate course of action and following up with staff regarding their adherence to the directives. </li></ul> <p>Benefits and Perks: Supportive, fun and friendly team environment!</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Wages and room for growth </li><li>Vacation and sick leave </li><li>Employer paid medical insurance for employee and family </li><li>Employer paid dental, vision and life insurance </li><li>Chiropractic services </li><li>Retirement 403b plan and supplemental insurance benefits </li><li>17 paid holidays, effective upon hire </li><li>Paid birthday holiday, effective upon hire </li><li>Paid anniversary day off of 1-5 days per year depending on years of service </li><li>Anniversary bonus after 5 years of service </li><li>Winter break </li><li>Pet Insurance </li><li>BBS supervision, on-going clinical training and CEUs available </li><li>Employee referral bonus </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Employee discount programs to theme parks, movies, hotels and car rentals </li><li>Paid educational leave </li><li>Paid drive time and mileage reimbursement </li><li>Eligible for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness </li><li>Employee Recognition </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>These specifications are general guidelines based upon the minimum, ordinarily considered essential, to satisfactory performance in this position. Individual skills and abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.</p> <p>To perform effectively in this position, the employee in this position is required to have:</p> <ul> <li>A working knowledge of conducting individual counseling sessions for those with a history of mental illness and their families. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of crisis intervention and individual counseling, documentation, psychiatric intern supervision, and multicultural and socio-economic issues. </li><li>Know and comply with Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health, policies and documentation guidelines, and other state/federal regulations relating to service programs for adults with a history of mental illness. </li><li>Basic advocacy skills. </li><li>Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Efficiently use the personal computer to include a variety of word processing software. </li><li>Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make decisions. </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and SHIELDS For Families philosophies. </li><li>Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge. </li><li>A valid California driver's license is required for this position, as driving is an essential function of the role and is required for field work, client crisis response and emergencies. A valid car insurance and registration is required. </li><li>Provides services within a culturally sensitive, ethnic informed model of practice and is respectful to the community and clients. </li><li>COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable. </li><li>These requirements are typically met by a combination of education at a Master's level and experience that includes two years' experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment.
