<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The College of Education (COE) at Butler University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position with a start date of August 2026. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, motivated, and collaborative faculty member who will recruit and teach undergraduate students in the Kinesiology program, support and contribute to our Human Performance Lab, collaborate with the Butler Institute for Sports & Entertainment, and liaise with Athletics and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Students in the Kinesiology major may choose to add concentrations in Pre-professional Studies, Applied Human Performance, and/or Sport Coaching.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Teach on-campus courses each semester. Teaching load may include classes in the Kinesiology major, the Sport Coaching minor, and/or the Butler University core curriculum </li><li>Serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate students </li><li>Engage in scholarship aligned with COE expectations for positive progress toward tenure </li><li>Provide service to the Kinesiology Program, College, University, and broader professional community </li><li>Contribute to building an inclusive learning environment that provides equal opportunity for success to all </li></ul> <p>Required qualification</p> <p>Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Sport Science, or Health Sciences, or a related discipline</p> <p>Preferred qualifications</p> <p>While not everyone may meet all preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Expertise in Exercise Physiology and/or Strength & Conditioning</p> </li><li> <p>Preparation to teach courses such as Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Activity, Sport, and Exercise; Kinesiology; Exercise Physiology; Strength and Conditioning Training</p> </li><li> <p>A line of scholarship that can utilize the Human Performance Lab and involve undergraduate students in all aspects of the research process</p> </li><li> <p>Specialized certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Athletic Trainer, and/or Certified Mental Performance Coach</p> </li><li> <p>Interest and experience in responsive, human-centered, and experiential education</p> </li><li> <p>Interest in innovative program delivery and development</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to support learners from a variety of backgrounds with strong, student-centered instructional methods</p> </li></ul> <p>To apply, candidates must submit:</p> <ul> <li>A letter of application outlining qualifications and interest in the position. </li><li>Curriculum vitae. </li><li>Names, titles, and contact information of three professional references who can speak to the candidate's excellence as an instructor. </li></ul> <p>Screening of applicants will begin on September 22, 2025, and continue until the position is filled.
