Knowledge of second language teaching/learning methods and techniques.</p> <p>? Ability to work effectively with administrators and other school staff in organizing and implementing the ELD instructional program.</p> <p>? Provide individual and group services that emphasize improved educational</p> <p>performance in the realm of English Language Development for MLLs</p> <p>? Develops a cooperative partnership with students and parents based on mutual respect.</p> <p>? Develops/adapts lesson plans and instructional materials to enhance the</p> <p>affective and cognitive development of students, to motivate students and to</p> <p>cater to the needs of all ability levels within the class.</p> <p>? Interprets the educational program to parents and other community members</p> <p>through personal conferences, meetings, and various media using the primary</p> <p>language when appropriate.</p> <p>? Responsible for entering data and keeping ELD files in compliance with federal, state, and local mandates and provisions.</p> <p>? Maintain appropriate data on students to document current levels of performance and other pertinent information. Re-evaluate, as appropriate, to determine progress and future needs for ELD.</p> <p>? Assists with the administration of all state mandated testing for Multi- Language Learners (MLLs) in order to design and place students in programs that best fit their needs.</p> <p>? Increases the academic performance of English learners by designing and</p> <p>implementing pullout and/or push-in language acquisition instruction for multi</p> <p>language learners (MLL's) within the school.</p> <p>? Builds school-wide capacity of best practices for MLL's through</p> <p>co-planning/teaching, planning and facilitating professional development, and</p> <p>collaborating with teachers and building administrators</p> <p>? Requires flexibility as ELD teachers are assigned a caseload based on the</p> <p>shifting needs of students.</p> <p>? Maintains accurate and confidential records of all assigned students</p> <p>? Communicate proactively with other staff, students, and parents</p> <p>? Attend mandatory district training and meet district and state mandated reporting deadlines for MLLs</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>? Colorado Department of Education's Teacher License for Culturally and</p> <p>Linguistically Diverse Education (preferred). Otherwise, must hold a Teacher</p> <p>License (Elementary or Secondary) and gain CLD endorsement within 2 years</p> <p>after hire.</p> <p>? Strong data management skills.</p> <p>? Proficient with technology, Apple and Google based platforms.</p> <p>? Experience with second language assessment and diagnostics.</p> <p>? Excellent communication skills including report writing and record keeping</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>? Passion for the arts in education.</p> <p>?
