<p>Position Purpose:</p> <p>Automation Controls Specialist is responsible for designing and developing controls solutions to support existing automated cells and new automated cell initiatives. These will include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Robotic/Gantry material handling cells </li><li>Electrical panel design </li><li>PLC programming </li><li>Plant layouts / material flow </li><li>Equipment manuals </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>This individual must champion the controls design process (concept, design, drawing creation, build, document), installation, MPAP, and long-term technical support of the manufacturing processes. This will include meeting quality, capability, cost and time targets. </li><li>Select and properly evaluate electronic and pneumatic components, sensors, and suppliers. </li><li>This individual must also participate in product and process design reviews. The position is responsible for helping to improve the quality of the product while lowering the cost to produce it. </li><li>Generate detailed bill of materials for each design. </li><li>This individual must be able to develop and implement capital or expense projects. This will include: </li></ul> <p>o Researching new and established manufacturing technologies</p> <p>o Planning the capital and time needed to implement the technology</p> <ul> <li>Program PLCs, robots, and other industrial components as required for each job to fulfill all functional requirements outlined by customer and designers. Proficiency in programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs) using languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram to control industrial processes. </li><li>This individual must provide technical assistance to the manufacturing and maintenance functions to solve chronic or complex problems. </li><li>Support projects during commissioning and final run-off. </li></ul> <p>Education and Training</p> <p>Associate's Degree required, bachelor's degree preferred.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 6+ years of manufacturing experience required. </li><li>Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk software suite (Studio 5000, Administration Console, Transaction Manager, View Studio, FT Directory, NGT2). </li><li>Professional experience in manufacturing in a automated machining/fabrication environment is desirable. </li><li>Formal training in robotic systems and other automated systems is desirable. </li><li>Candidate must demonstrate an ability to read and understand electrical schematics. </li><li>Formal training in SQL or other database language preferred. </li><li>Candidate must demonstrate the ability to read and understand electrical schematics, flow charts, and Allen Bradley PLC code. </li><li>Understanding of structured programming principles. </li><li>Must exhibit strong "problem solving and decision-making" abilities. </li></ul> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or other characteristics protected by law.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>Requisition ID: 250000EE </li></ul>
