<p>2026 UA Weld Scholarship</p> <p>The 2026 United Alloy Weld Scholarship offers high school seniors in Janesville, WI and surrounding areas a unique opportunity to jumpstart their welding careers.</p> <p>Selected students will receive a $10,000 scholarship covering tuition, tools, and housing for a six-week, all-expenses-paid welding program at Advanced Weld Institute during the summer of 2026.</p> <p>In addition, participants will gain hands-on experience through a paid work opportunity at $18/hour, and upon graduation, will be offered a full-time position at United Alloy starting at $25/hour.</p> <p>To apply, students must be in good academic standing, have a strong interest in welding, and submit an essay along with a letter of recommendation.</p> <p>Applications are due by February 2026, and scholarship recipients will be announced in April 2026.</p> <p>Scholarship Overview:</p> <ul> <li>During the six-week duration of schooling, students will earn an hourly wage of $18.00/hr. </li><li>UA/AWI will provide all tools, books, and housing. </li><li>A full-time position available with UA upon completion of the program with a starting wage of $25.00/hr. and full benefits. Students will be assigned to any of our two shifts depending on current business needs. </li></ul> <p>Total Scholarship Offering:</p> <ul> <li>UA: $10,000 scholarship to each chosen recipient that covers all tuition, room and board, books, and tools </li></ul> <p>UA Student AWI Program Curriculum:</p> <ul> <li>40 hours of blueprint reading and symbols </li><li>GMAW-S - Short Circuit 6 hours of classroom time with 30-40 hours of shop time. <em>Fridays will be testing days</em> </li><li>GMAW-P - Pulse Spray 6 hours of classroom time with 120 hours of shop time. <em> Fridays will be testing days</em> </li><li>Fabrication - 24 hours of classroom time with 50 hours of shop time </li></ul> <p>Students will abide by all AWI rules and regulations</p> <p>Criteria for Selection:</p> <ul> <li>In good standing and on-track to graduate </li><li>Has or currently is enrolled in technical education courses, welding courses preferred. </li><li>Interested in pursuing a career in welding </li></ul> <p>Recipient Selection:</p> <ul> <li>United Alloy executive team will review applications and make final selection </li><li>If needed, UA team will rely on the Tech Ed Instructors at the local school districts </li></ul> <p>Application Process:</p> <ul> <li>Student will complete an online application on United Alloy's website and upload the following in order to be considered as a candidate: </li><li>Student will need to upload an essay explaining their interest/passion for going into a weld career and why they would be a good recipient for the scholarship. </li><li>Student will need to upload one letter of recommendation from an educator or coach (non-relative). </li></ul> <p>For any outliner questions, please ask your school counselor/tech ed representative or email United Alloy directly at recruiting@unitedalloy.com</p> <p>Key Scholarship 2025 Dates:</p> <p>Friday, March 28th (Good Friday) - Applications Due</p> <p>Friday, April 11th - Recipients Selection</p> <p>Monday, April 14th- 16th - Offers</p> <p>Monday, April 21st - Onboarding Begins</p> <p>Friday, May 9th - Welcome Lunch @ UA (recipients, families, school representatives, and AWI)</p> <p>Monday, June 16th - Student First Day @ AWI</p> <p>Friday, August 1nd - Graduation @ AWI</p>
