<p>This position is designed to provide support to teachers and school personnel across the MVPS district who are facing challenges with student's behaviors or learning needs. To acquire this support, a school staff completes a Behavioral Consult Request Form (available through the Coordinator of Shared Services) and submits it to the CSS. This form is then shared with the Inclusion Support Teacher and a plan is made to begin the consultation process. The Inclusion Support Teacher works under the supervision of the Coordinator of Shared Services/BCBA and the Director of Student Support Services.</p> <p>Primary Responsibility: To provide consultation to building-based teams in order to support students identified by CST's and/or through the IEP process in need of additional behavioral, social/emotional or academic support.</p> <p>To do this, the Inclusion Support Teacher may:</p> <ol> <li>Have phone/virtual conference with school personnel (e.g. general education staff, special education staff, service providers, guidance) to learn more about the needs of the student; </li><li>Observe the student in various school settings to assist the teams to identify strengths, challenges, triggers, current consequences in place. </li><li>Assist the teams to develop possible strategies that may be used within the school setting to support the student; </li><li>Assist the teams to train staff on how to implement the strategies by providing a written plan; modeling the intervention, having the staff practice and giving feedback; </li><li>Develop data collection methods which are practical for classroom use but will also document effectiveness of interventions; </li><li>Review data and make changes to intervention plan based upon the data 7.Schedule regular visits to classroom; 8.Attend school meetings (CST's, IEP meetings) as necessary; </li><li>Assist the district BCBA to complete FBA's as needed </li><li>Attend regular meetings (weekly or bi-weekly) with the Coordinator of Shared Services, </li><li>Assist with other behavioral needs as requested by the Coordinator of Shared Services or the Director of Student Support Services. </li></ol> <p>Secondary Responsibility: To provide support to the various Shared Service Program teachers and staff by assisting and establishing programs and provide staff training.</p> <p>Other duties may include, but are not limited to: 1.Collaboration with related service providers, BCBA, and outside consultants in providing appropriate interventions, accommodations and modifications for each student and program as a whole. 2.Collaboration as needed with community agencies to ensure programming and coordination, as well as transitions. 3.Maintains and improves professional competence through attendance at professional development offerings, and by self-generated activities that meet district expectations the requirements for recertification 4.Train and assist in the supervision of Educational Support Personnel (ESPs) to support students both within the classroom and in individual/small group pull-out instruction. 5.Maintain active certification in Safety Care or other program certification for Crisis Prevention and Physical Management.</p>
