<p>Job Title: Inventory Control Coordinator</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Inventory Control Coordinator ensures accurate, reliable, and compliant inventory records within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role proactively monitors and resolves inventory variances, supports production and quality operations, and maintains thorough documentation to meet customer, regulatory, and audit requirements. The position works closely with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to safeguard product integrity, support shop order management, and uphold high standards of food quality and safety.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Ensure inventory accuracy and integrity by proactively monitoring, investigating, and resolving daily variances, maintaining all required documentation to support compliance and traceability. </li><li>Perform daily verification of finished goods inventory to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with shop order requirements. </li><li>Review shop orders to confirm correct material usage for items such as product, cans, film, and lids, ensuring adherence to production and quality standards and coordinating approved substitutions as needed. </li><li>Execute timely and accurate shop order closure using a standardized process, ensuring completeness and compliance with accounting and audit requirements. </li><li>Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies, including inventory shortages, pallet tag inconsistencies, and system variances. </li><li>Identify and correct transactional and RF scanning errors to maintain accurate system data and reliable inventory information for operational and quality decisions. </li><li>Conduct routine cycle counts and perform root cause analysis on discrepancies, driving corrective actions to maintain accurate on-hand inventory levels. </li><li>Support production by resolving inventory transaction issues in real time, minimizing disruption while maintaining compliance with established procedures. </li><li>Coordinate with Quality to ensure Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are initiated and completed as required to meet customer and regulatory expectations. </li><li>Create and manage shop orders for bulk production, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and alignment with customer specifications. </li><li>Support leadership with initiatives focused on process improvement, inventory control enhancement, and continuous improvement of quality systems. </li><li>Maintain compliance with all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and housekeeping standards, reinforcing a culture of quality, safety, and accountability. </li><li>Participate in physical inventory counts and audits, ensuring accuracy, preparedness, and adherence to company standards. </li><li>Provide support during month-end close activities, including being available for weekend or holiday work as needed to ensure timely and accurate completion. </li><li>Complete all required training programs to stay current on quality standards, systems, and operational procedures. </li><li>Participate in cross-training across the quality department, including lab-related tasks, and perform a variety of quality and inventory-related duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of inventory control principles and practices within a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Understanding of quality control processes as they relate to manufacturing, particularly in the food industry. </li><li>Understanding of food quality processes and the ability to support food safety and quality assurance activities. </li><li>Ability to perform basic math calculations using a calculator, including percentages and other simple calculations required for inventory and quality checks. </li><li>Familiarity with quality concepts such as quality control, quality assurance, GMP, and line audits. </li><li>Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word and Excel. </li><li>Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Production, Warehouse, and Quality teams. </li><li>Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. </li><li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in an inventory or production planning role is preferred. </li><li>Experience with Macola software is preferred. </li><li>Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are preferred. </li><li>Experience working with quality systems, GMP compliance, and food manufacturing processes is beneficial. </li><li>Ability to perform and document line audits and support quality assurance activities. </li><li>Willingness to be cross-trained in all aspects of the quality department, including lab work. </li><li>Ability to support process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and quality systems. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role is based in a smaller food manufacturing company that produces large volumes of product for major retail customers and is actively expanding its customer base, including a new pasteurization facility that supports continued growth and advancement opportunities. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with additional work on weekends during the busy season and occasional weekend or holiday work to support month-end close activities. The position requires regular work on a concrete production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with exposure to warm and cold temperatures and noise levels that may exceed 85 dB. Team members follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) when entering and working in the production facility, including adherence to all safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards. The role involves close collaboration with production, warehouse, and quality teams, and the individual will be cross-trained across the quality department, including time spent both on the floor and in the lab, depending on operational needs.
