<p>Strengthening and empowering all of the communities we serve.</p> <p>MassLive is seeking candidates for a Summer Sports Intern position.</p> <p>The Sports Intern will report and produce sports stories for our readers on local teams and athletes for various platforms. You'll report directly to a sports manager and will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to our online sports reporting as well as prepare for the upcoming fall high school sports seasons.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Day-to-day tasks and projects may include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Contributing and researching story ideas </li><li>Fact-checking and copyediting content </li><li>Writing bylined stories </li><li>Producing photos and video </li><li>Interacting on social media platforms with objective commentary, comment moderation and promoting content initiatives </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional writing skills </li><li>Familiarity with web publishing tools </li><li>Demonstrated capability in capitalizing on high-value topics by engaging audiences with frequency and urgency </li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines and appropriately prioritize tasks </li><li>Preference given to college juniors and seniors pursuing a degree in Journalism, Digital Media, Communications, or related fields </li></ul> <p>Pay is $15/hour for this 40-hour week, 10-week paid position and will be based in either our Springfield, Worcester or Boston office.
