<ul> <li>Manage daily department workflow in ARO software. </li><li>Receives and delivers mail from/to university departments. </li><li>Sorts and places mail in proper boxes, or releases to approved department personnel. </li><li>Processes mail including weighing outgoing mail parcels and applying proper postage. </li><li>Performs receptionist duties such as greeting visitors, answering inquiries, screening telephone calls and routing incoming calls. </li><li>Sells stamps and certifies mail. </li><li>Uses recommended procedures for the safe and proper handling of letters and packages. </li><li>Copies and collates office material. </li><li>Assembles and files information by predetermined category. </li><li>Operates various office machines such as typewriters, calculators, computers, etc. </li><li>Enters data as required on computer terminal. </li><li>Operates cash drawer and balances daily print and postage sales. </li><li>Makes postings to various departmental records and prepares reports involving tabulation of posted data and simple arithmetic calculations. </li><li>Types postage vouchers and disseminates to business office for approval. </li><li>Maintains equipment in good working order by coordinating service calls, as required. </li><li>Tracks and recovers lost mail. </li><li>Substitutes in other areas of Administration. </li><li>Working knowledge of the various software used by the print shop. </li><li>Competent with MicroSoft Office Suite </li><li>Good knowledge of basic arithmetic and making simple arithmetic calculations. </li><li>Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions. </li><li>Basic knowledge of mail room practices and procedures, including operation of such equipment as stamp machine, scales, or metering machine. </li><li>Knowledge of proper telephone usage. </li><li>Ability to concentrate on detailed projects during numerous interruptions by telephone and walk-in inquirers. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to exercise important human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the university community. </li></ul>
