This role ensures that all district communications, meetings, and documents are accessible to Spanish-speaking families, fostering an inclusive and equitable educational environment.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential tasks performed to achieve the purpose of this job. <p>Translate district-wide documents, including letters, forms, policies, procedures, newsletters, and other written materials, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate curriculum-related materials, assessments, and parent communications to support student learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and proofread translated documents for consistency and clarity.</p> </li></ul> <p>Interpretation (Oral)</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide real-time interpretation services for parent-teacher conferences, special education meetings (IEP, 504 plans), disciplinary hearings, and other district meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret at school board meetings, community engagement events, and district-wide training.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate communication between staff, students, and families in person, via phone, and in virtual settings.</p> </li></ul> <p>Family and Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support district efforts to increase engagement with Spanish-speaking families by ensuring accessible communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide interpretation services at parent nights, open houses, and district events.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist families in understanding school policies, procedures, and resources available to students.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compliance and Confidentiality</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ensure translations and interpretations align with district policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.</p> </li></ul> </li><li> <p>Fluent in Spanish and English (oral and written) with advanced proficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Certification in translation and/or interpretation preferred (e.g., CCHI, ATA, or equivalent).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in educational or public service settings preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey meaning accurately.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.</p> </li><li> <p>One or two years of related experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of school district terminology, special education processes, and legal requirements related to language access.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with
