<p>Compensation Range</p> <p>$27.62 - $35.90</p> <ul> <li>- </li></ul> <p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>Responsible for reviewing new applications and recertification packets to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for public assistance programs. Communicates directly with client to obtain information and offers referrals and additional information relating to services and assistance provided within the department or the community. Manages all assigned cases using various data bases to update and evaluate documentation regarding current and historical household status and other relevant information to provide accurate case management.</p> <p>Primary work location is at the Greeley office or Fort Lupton office. Reliable, predictable attendance within department business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position may be eligible for up to 10 days per month telework options upon successful completion of initial training and demonstration of the ability to work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards. Training typically takes three (3) months and occurs in our Greeley location. 40%</p> <ul> <li>Reviews new applications, recertification's and supporting documentation for completeness. </li><li>Performs extensive research in multiple data bases to verify information and identifies any inconsistent information. </li><li>Determines initial eligibility, compliance, and ongoing eligibility for public assistance programs using unique guidelines, information obtained from the client interview, and any new information obtained from research. </li><li>Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and exemplify personal accountability in the learning process by researching available resources including desk aids, rules, and statues. </li><li>Gathers information such as financial documentation and other supporting information from clients in person, over the phone, and from electronic applications. </li><li>Assists clients in understanding what information and documentation is needed, how it is obtained and how to complete required forms and applications. </li><li>Advises clients of their rights, responsibilities and pertinent rules and regulations. </li><li>Offers information and makes referrals relating to additional services and assistance provided within the Department or the community. </li></ul> <p>Finalize Application - 15%</p> <ul> <li>Completes required forms and enter all new and updated client information into several county and state computer programs and/or data bases. </li><li>Updates all required logs and reports and communicate the status of pending cases to track manager. </li><li>Maintains processing expectations and process cases within State guidelines for timeliness. </li><li>Submits case referrals to other divisions such as Child Support Services or the Program Integrity Unit according to the programs' rules and regulations, when appropriate, and complete additional case duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Customer Service - 15%</p> <ul> <li>Maintains a positive professional relationship with all team members and supports a healthy and productive work environment. </li><li>Maintains a high level of professional communication, customer service and follow through with clients, peers, and supervisors. </li><li>Responds to inquiries timely and communicate case status of assigned work to the appropriate parties. </li><li>Proactively returns calls and e-mails and communicates with supervisor when additional assistance is needed to complete a task. </li></ul> <p>Compliance - 15%</p> <ul> <li>Consistently meets processing expectations established by the Assistance Payments Division. </li><li>Maintains efficiency through utilizing provided tools and available interfaces and make collateral contacts when necessary to authorize a case. </li><li>Takes accountability for individually tracking case review outcomes monthly with Supervisor to ensure quality outcomes. </li><li>Understands how quality case processing impacts the clients we serve. </li></ul> <p>Professionalism and Teamwork - 15%</p> <ul> <li>Participates in a positive and value-added manner with both internal and external customers. </li><li>Contribute daily to the team's productivity goals. </li><li>Stays informed by participating as appropriate in all team meetings, attends or views recordings for the division or department updates and reads county wide messaging. </li><li>Understands how one's day to day work significantly impacts the team's success. </li><li>Follow policies and procedures, the Weld County Code of Conduct and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and appropriate release of information outlined in both. </li><li>- </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED and 1 year full time business or clerical experience in an office environment or </li><li>any equivalent combination of education or experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Ability to keyboard at 35 words per minute. </li><li>Successful completion of an associate degree. </li><li>1 year work experience determining eligibility for public assistance programs in Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS). </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must possess extensive customer service, telephone use, and computer experience that includes data entry and Windows based navigation. </li><li>Candidate must possess accurate 10 key ability. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to enter data into several different computer programs. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to use multiple data bases and computer programs. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to learn and apply new computer skills on a regular basis. </li><li>Candidate must possess knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows and Word, Excel, and Outlook. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and department policies and procedures. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to write correspondence. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to apply math concepts and calculations in the work environment. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to apply critical thinking to problem solve in a work environment. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to work in and engage in a positive, continuously improving, and professional work environment. </li><li>Candidate must possess the ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast paced, high volume and ever- changing work environment and be able to handle high stress situations. </li><li>Candidate must follow Human Services policies and procedures, the Weld County Code of Conduct and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and appropriate release of information outlined in both. </li><li>Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to employment start date. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to employment start date. Required </li><li>Driving is essential in this position. </li><li>Candidate must have a valid Driver's License and Liability Insurance Upon Hire Required </li><li>Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation and if hired, will be subject to continuous monthly MVR monitoring throughout employment. Candidate must provide own transportation and be willing to travel as needed to meet the essential functions of the position. Required </li><li>Pre-employment substance screening is required for this position. </li><li>This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening.
