<p>This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled.</p> <p>Annual Salary:</p> <p>$53,001.00 - $56,745.00</p> <p>Hourly:</p> <p>$27.18 - $29.10</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Public Safety, Traffic Operations</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Traffic Safety</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>This role will inspect and coordinate traffic safety activities within the City.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Conducts traffic studies and counts at intersections. </li><li>Analyzes traffic count data and prepares reports. </li><li>Reviews and approves permits for parking meters and street closings following designated procedures. </li><li>Reviews and analyzes and files traffic incident reports from the Police Department to determine frequency of accidents at various streets and intersections. </li><li>Makes traffic safety recommendations to management. </li><li>Investigates and analyzes traffic related issues. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree (AA/AS) and 4 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software. </li></ul> <p>Other Necessary Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. </li><li>In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs. </li></ul> <p>The City of Charleston is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity ( EEOC) as a fundamental policy to be implemented and observed in our daily operation.
