As a Drainage Engineer-In-Training you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish. We are looking for someone to work in our Pleasant Grove or Salt Lake City office.</p> <p>What are the core responsibilities for the role?</p> <ul> <li>Work as part of the drainage team under the direction of Senior Hydraulics Engineers to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design for transportation projects. </li><li>Use a variety of modeling software and tools to analyze and design drainage systems including storm drains, culverts, ditches, and water quality and stormwater management facilities. </li><li>Use CADD to prepare plans and digital files for bidding and construction. </li><li>Coordinate with other disciplines to provide the best value and service to our clients. </li><li>Your work will include design, calculations, and plan development. </li><li>Apply and adhere to industry and client standards. </li><li>Take ownership of and complete assigned tasks. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Undergraduate or graduate degree from accredited program in civil engineering. </li><li>Passed FE exam. </li><li>0-4 years of experience in storm water design and plan preparation for transportation projects. </li><li>Municipal and/or state DOT experience preferred. </li><li>OpenRoads Designer experience preferred. </li><li>Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills. </li><li>Desire to progress personally and professionally. </li><li>Motivated to work hard to learn new skills. </li><li>Clear and concise verbal and written communication. </li><li>Ability to work with different staff members. </li><li>Apply effective time management skills. </li></ul> <p>Why would a candidate want this job?</p> <p>At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
