<p>Under general supervision, this position provides onsite supervision for Day Camp groups.</p> <ul> <li>This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town's policies* </li></ul> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This job description does not constitute an employment agreement, and the Town may change these duties at any time.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assists in the daily management and leadership of Day Camp programs to ensure safety and efficiency. </p> </li><li> <p>Provides general supervision to both campers and staff and leads campers in a variety of planned activities. </p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the supervision of part-time Day Camp Counselors; conducts and assists with hiring, scheduling, employee feedback, staff training and development, discipline/termination, and employee recognition processes for assigned staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and implements a variety of school-aged activities and excursions. </p> </li><li> <p>Assists with ensuring assigned spaces and associated supplies and equipment are in proper working order to maintain safe conditions for campers and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides safe transportation via Town vehicles for campers to/from facilities, schools and excursions. </p> </li><li> <p>Provides appropriate first aid care to injured campers and staff, fills out necessary reports. </p> </li><li> <p>Serves as point-of-contact for conflict resolution, parent, camper or staff concerns, questions, etc. in the absence of a full-time staff member. </p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate safety practices, operating procedures, and training programs. </p> </li><li> <p>Complies with all policies, procedures and regulations necessary for licensure as outlined by the State of Colorado. </p> </li><li> <p>Serves as a Day Camp Counselor Sr. when necessary. </p> </li><li> <p>Performs other related duties as assigned. </p> </li></ul> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.</p> <p>Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Requires six thousand four hundred twenty (6,420) verifiable hours of experience working with children since age eighteen (18), or a two- (2) year degree supplemented by two hundred forty (240) hours of part-time, paid or volunteer experience since age of eighteen (18) in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children.</p> <p>Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications within thirty (30) days of hire is required.</p> <p>Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.</p> <p>Employment Standards</p> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge of relevant town, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of State of Colorado Licensure requirements for Day Camp programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of early childhood/school-aged child development practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the supervision of staff and school-aged children. </p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the use of computers and various software programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in the development of day-camp programming and activities. </p> </li><li> <p>Skill in verbal and written communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Skill in interpersonal relations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop and implement a variety of planned activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to handle incidents and confrontations in a recreation facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to provide a positive customer service attitude towards all people entering the facility.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt effective solutions. </p> </li><li> <p>Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background, including but not limited to CBI/FBI criminal record check, Department of Social Services Central Registry check, and a drug screen.</p> </li></ul> <p>The working conditions described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with a disability to perform the essential duties.</p> <p>Tools & Equipment</p> <p>Requires frequent use of general office equipment and an automobile. </p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision. </p> <p>Environment</p> <p>Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.</p> <p>Full pay range is: $22.81/hr. - $28.90/hr.</p> <p> </p> <p>Starting pay for this position is $23.50/hr.</p> <p>Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis until a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received. </p>
