<p>The Value Analysis Specialist is responsible for the Product Evaluation/Value Analysis Program (PEVA) through collaboration with Executive Leadership, Supply Chain Leadership, Medical Staff, Clinical Staff, and Vendors. Implements organization-wide strategy/direction to reduce expenses and improve clinical outcomes and quality. Responsible for working with Supply Chain administration to review and optimize current contract portfolio, develop and execute product standardization throughout the organization, facilitate "roll-out" of new products/conversions by working with clinical partners, and successfully execute the supply cost management and Supply Chain operation plan.</p> <ul> <li>Drives clinical cost reduction and better patient outcomes as the Clinical Champion of Connecticut Children's Value Analysis Program. </li><li>Organizes and manages all Value Analysis Committees at CT Children's. </li><li>Assesses relevant financial, clinical, operational, and evidence-based literature and appropriately assists in selecting, evaluating, monitoring, analyzing, and implementing cost-effective products, services, and processes. </li><li>Serves as an information resource by providing data/information related to Value Analysis by investigating new or alternative products/services based on observations, product issues, high costs, requests from user groups, suppliers, Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) peer groups, or as assigned by Supply Chain Administration. </li><li>Coordinates clinical evaluation trial activity with clinical partners. Completes Evidence-Based research by reviewing and analyzing appropriate sources of product and vendor information. Ensures criteria for measurement of clinical efficacy and outcomes have been established for each evaluation. </li><li>Responsible for taking decisions from Value Analysis Committee(s) and facilitating the official "Roll-Out" of those decisions (new products, product conversions, standardization actions, etc.). Ensures projects are driven to completion. </li><li>Tracks all decisions and cost savings/spend associated with decisions with a tracking tool. </li><li>Maintains Policies and Procedures related to Product Evaluation/Value Analysis (PEVA). </li><li>Keeps current on technology, regulatory, and operational trends in the health care industry, which may impact product utilization. </li><li>Helps to identify appropriate product substitutions when needed (shortages, etc.). </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li>Demonstrates support for the organization's mission, values, and goals through behaviors that are consistent with Connecticut Children's STANDARDS. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience Required:</p> <p>Education Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Nursing required </li></ul> <p>Experience Required:</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years related experience in a pediatric facility </li><li>Operating Room Experience or Critical Care nursing experience preferred </li><li>Must have the ability to review/analyze data to drive decision-making, including using appropriate tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc). </li><li>Strong analytical skills. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills </li></ul> <p>License and/or Certification Required:</p> <ul> <li>The current professional nursing license in CT </li></ul> <p>License and/or Certification Preferred:</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Extremely organized and detail-oriented. </li><li>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Critical thinking, Analytical Skills, problem-solving acumen and a high-level self-motivation and ownership. </li><li>Able to plan and think strategically. </li><li>Values diversity and team work. </li><li>Demonstrates integrity; is ethical in conduct and decision thinking. </li><li>Demonstrates initiative, creativity and flexibility. </li><li>Demands accountability of self and others. </li></ul>
