<p>Instructional Support Assistants are responsible for providing academic support to the students to help them become independent learners and achieve academic success while also assisting faculty and staff in daily operations as needed. </p> <p>Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.</p> <p>Instructional Support Assistant I</p> <ul> <li>Tutor and provide general assistance to students and community patrons in an atmosphere conducive to learning. Tutoring includes on-line, face-to-face, and group sessions. </li><li>Mentor peer assistants. </li><li>Continually improve knowledge of subject area(s) and tutoring skills. </li><li>Assist or attend workshops and seminars for students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Encourage students and community patrons to develop confidence and become independent learners. </li><li>Maintain work confidentiality. </li><li>Encourage students to develop confidence and to become more independent learners. </li><li>Maintain an attitude and environment conducive to learning </li><li>Follow all rules, guidelines, and procedures </li><li>Maintain and submit accurate time sheets </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Instructional Support Assistant II</p> <ul> <li>ALL DUTIES FROM INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT I AND... </li><li>Interact with staff/faculty to obtain course syllabi/materials and develop tutoring materials for course support. </li><li>Provide appropriate student feedback to staff/faculty. </li><li>Assist in revising and providing input to procedures, operations, and training manuals/courses. </li><li>Assist students in improving academic achievement through providing one-on-one tutoring for students </li><li>Assist students with resolving computer problems, including contacting the appropriate Supervisor or IT Technician, as needed </li><li>Acts as a lead assistant when the Manager or level III assistant is not present </li><li>Special projects assigned as needed </li></ul> <p>Instructional Support Assistant III</p> <ul> <li>ALL DUTIES FROM INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT II AND... </li><li>Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, and orientations for students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Mentor, train, and track tutoring progress for all tutors. </li><li>Conduct day-to-day operations when the Manager is not present </li></ul> <p>Special projects assigned as needed </p> <p>Instructional Support Assistant I</p> <ul> <li>Education Required: Associate degree or equivalent experience in subject(s) content area. For Math Tutoring, specific coursework in Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, or higher-level math </li><li>Education Preferred: </li><li>Experience Required: Minimum GPA of 2.5 </li><li>Grade of A or B in tutoring subject area(s) </li><li>Two recommendations demonstrating work experience </li><li>1-3 years teaching or tutoring, preferably in subject area or no educational experience with a bachelor's degree described above </li></ul> <p>Instructional Support Assistant II</p> <ul> <li>Education Required: Associate degree or equivalent experience in subject(s) content area. For Math Tutoring, specific coursework in Calculus or higher-level math; </li><li>Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree </li><li>Experience Required: Minimum GPA of 2.5 </li><li>Grade of A or B in tutoring subject area(s) </li><li>Two recommendations demonstrating work experience </li><li>3+ years' experience teaching or tutoring in the subject area or 2-3 years with a Bachelor's degree described above. </li></ul> <p>Instructional Support Assistant III</p> <ul> <li>Education Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the subject(s) content area with a heavy concentration on Education Strategies. For Math Tutoring, specific coursework in higher-level math; </li><li>Education Preferred: Master's degree </li><li>Experience Required: Two recommendations demonstrating work experience </li><li>4+ years' experience teaching or tutoring in the subject area </li></ul> <p>Educational Credentials (Foreign Degrees)</p> <p>Applicants with foreign transcripts earned outside the United States must submit an evaluation from a credentialing evaluation service recognized by a U.S.-based accrediting body (such as NACES or AICE) to verify that the education/degree meets the minimum requirements for the position. Official transcripts, along with certified English translations if applicable, must be provided within 30 days of hire as a condition of employment.</p>
