The position analyzes current processes, outlines improvements in workflow operations, and implements installation to meet project goals. Further, the Senior Industrial Engineer partners with Operations, IT and Engineering leadership to identify and deploy future enhancements in systems (software and automation). This position trains cross functional teams and provides technical expertise to support implementation efforts.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <p>Industrial Engineering</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Analyze, document, and optimize current processes including layout design, inventory flow, and order fulfillment strategies to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement </li><li>Develop and maintain labor management standards using motion and time standards, MOST and time study techniques work instructions, and layout designs for operations </li><li>Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to management </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality and maintenance to drive performance improvements </li><li>Perform and monitor operations on the floor to understand the gaps and final goals of a process </li><li>Design operational layout of equipment, workstation, and processes in addition to overseeing installation in accordance with the project schedule timeline </li></ul> <p>Technology and Project Management</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Serve as an active participant for automation opportunities including identifying the processes for automation, identifying technology and providers </li><li>Assist in executing engineering projects and work with procurement in the request for proposal (RFP) process </li><li>Identify system and process issues on the floor to develop and execute projects in collaboration with IT and Operations </li></ul> <p>Technical Support and Documentation</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Develop work instructions for the manufacturing and warehouse process and train the staff for standardization </li><li>Review design changes for processes, determine impact on operation and costs, and oversee implementation efforts and timeliness </li></ul> <p>Support Long-Term Plans & Safety Programs</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Collaborate with the Health & Safety department to improve equipment safety and develop a pre-production safety review process that includes a design review to ensure safety and ergonomic standards are met before equipment delivery and installation </li><li>Support tactical initiatives to optimize operational performance </li></ul> <p>Experience & Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering </li><li>Master's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Minimum 5 years of a combination of experience spanning the following areas: Industrial Engineer in a fast paced environment with experience in developing labor standards, automation, knowledge of WMS, WCS, PLC and WES </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li></li><li>PE - Professional Engineer Preferred </li></ul> <p>Software/Technical Skills</p> <ul> <li></li><li>MS Office </li><li>WMS (Warehouse Management System), WCS (Warehouse Control System) and WES (Warehouse Execution System) </li><li>AutoCAD </li><li>Simulation Software Preferred </li><li>PLC Programming Preferred </li></ul> <p>Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Ability to break down complex operational challenges, evaluate multiple solutions, and select the most efficient, cost-effective approach </li><li>Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, present findings, and influence decisions </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Project Management skills in planning, prioritizing tasks, managing deadlines, and driving initiatives to completion </li><li>Aptitude to foster and build cross-functional relationships </li><li>Ability to analyze ROI </li></ul> <p>Additional Details for This Role</p> <p>This role will be an onsite role. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard.
