<p>Description</p> <p>Boulder County Community Services Department is seeking to hireAlternative Sentencing Facility Operations Supervisors. This a new position for the Alternative Sentencing Facility (ASF) that is a brand-new facility being built. These 6 supervisors will provide 24/7/365 days supervision, oversite, support to clients housed and staff working at the ASF.</p> <p>This is a full-time, benefitedposition that will work a swing shift Wednesday-Saturday 2:00pm- 12:00am. This position needs to be available for staff meetings, rotating on call and scheduled trainings. This position will work out of 3260 Airport Road Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.</p> <p>Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.</p> <p>Hiring Salary Range:$68,976.00 - $99,300.00Annually</p> <p>Tentative Hiring Timeline:</p> <ul> <li>Phone Screening: Week of September 8th </li><li>First Round Interviews: September 16th </li><li>Second Round Interviews: September 19th </li><li>Reference Check: September 19th </li></ul> <p>New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month (Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify). Visit studentaid.gov for more information.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and initiate staff hiring for direct report positions and hourly. Participate in interviews and offer appropriate opinions regarding the hiring of new staff </li><li>Supervises the daily operation of all security functions, facility activities, and exercises direct and indirect supervision over clients, staff and other professionals as assigned. Includes operational staff hiring, and the management of staff Timecards, performance evaluations and performance issues and improvements </li><li>Supervises safety, security and movements of staff and clients throughout the facility with the use of various types of equipment and software such as closed-circuit television (CCTV), continual monitoring of interior/exterior spaces, hand-held radios, facility intercom system, audio/visual entry devices and the Unify facility management system. </li><li>Supervises the safety and security of facility and control of contraband including conducting searches of clients, client possessions and client living areas; conducting security checks of facility, facility perimeter, windows, doors, and work areas; supervising client services such as food service, laundry service mail and supervising business and personal client visitation </li><li>Supervises and conducts standard correctional facility activities such as head counts, client searches, client substance use testing, etc., and when necessary, administers like activities with staff such as reasonable suspicion substance use testing </li><li>Supervises, and coordinates with vendors/service providers, in the continual delivery of client food and laundry services and immediately reports any staffing, operational or equipment concerns or issues to the operations manager </li><li>Assists the senior leadership team in developing, implementing, coordinating and supervising staff training that aligns with local/state/ federal statutes, program standards, policy/procedures and guidelines for community-based adult correctional facilities, alternative sentencing programs and criminal justice organizations </li><li>Coordinates with the Operations Manager, Programs Manager, Behavior Health Manager, and Training coordinator to ensure and deliver adequate training of staff on all facility policy, facility operations, facility security, core correctional practices, assessment tools, evidence-based practices </li><li>Maintains training and/or certification for elements required by either federal, state or local statue, such as PREA, and for emergency response, standard evacuation procedures and administration of lifesaving techniques such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED), Narcan, etc. </li><li>Supervises, and ensures that all operational staff, client behavior and the application of disciplinary rule and regulations; also coordinates all aspects of due process and administrations of sanctions and program removals </li><li>When directed, participates in department or division management teams, internal committees, coordinates and conducts regular staff meetings, serves as liaison to local collateral agencies, and reports requests for public communications, inquiries and complaints to the operations manager </li><li>Performs administrative and record keeping duties in support of program; documents client behavior, program activities, facility and client records retention or other types of administrative duties required by state and local statue </li><li>Assists the business clerk in the verification and coordination of vendor contracts, various billing items, charges for services, reconciling accounts when needed and ensuring funding for basic indigent client's needs </li><li>Attend and participate in Community Justice Services Leadership meetings, Community Services Leadership meetings and participation in criminal justice system (CJS) committees </li><li>Maintain Certification in Supervisory Skills through the County's Human Resources (HR) department </li><li>Attend trainings through Boulder County HR, CJS and conferences to keep current on job skills and current justice trends </li><li>Directly supervise operations staff </li><li>Review and approve time sheets and leave request for direct reports weekly and monthly </li><li>Conduct bi-annual performance conversations highlighting employee's accomplishments and goals. Complete introductory period performance evaluations. Conduct monthly personnel management interviews (PMI) with staff to discuss accomplishments and areas of improvement </li><li>Facilitate monthly staff meetings as required </li><li>Develop and maintain positive professional working relationships with referring agencies, as well as members of the public </li><li>Arrange transports as needed and train staff on these duties </li><li>Provide daily shift supervision to ensure smooth operations of the facility </li><li>Work with other supervisors and Program Managers to ensure proper scheduling and shift coverage at The Pelle Center </li><li>Maintain understanding and comply with Boulder County, CJS, and ASF policies and procedures </li><li>Ensure Boulder County, CJS policies and procedures are understood and followed by self and staff. Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff, clients and partner agencies </li><li>Train staff on the job and in classroom trainings. Set up new staff's training schedule in compliance with CJS, Boulder County standards </li><li>Assure staff are taking care of themselves and handling stressful job duties/situations appropriately. Ensure staff are aware of Boulder County Employee assistance program (EAP) and they utilize it appropriately </li><li>Maintain all certifications required by the CJS and ensure staff maintain their certifications </li><li>Ensure staff have access to and are utilizing appropriate training opportunities. </li><li>Performs related work, as required </li><li>May be reassigned during emergency situations </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE: When completing your application describe all relevant education and experience, as applications are assessed based on the required qualifications listed. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged.
