<p>Position Description:</p> <p>The Manager of Credit and Collections is a vital role to ensuring the continued success of The Miniat Companies, Inc. The successful candidate will utilize their experience and knowledge to ensure the timely and smooth payment of invoices while maintaining strong relationships with customers and our sales team. The role will work cross functionally to improve collections by identifying issues and finding acceptable resolutions. The role requires strong communication & organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a strong drive for results.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains strong relationships with customer contacts to ensure timely payments and fast resolution of issues </li><li>Provides weekly update of activity affecting the aging report to the CFO, Controller, and VPs of sales for both companies </li><li>Maintains strong relationships with company sales team to ensure issues are resolved quickly and questions addressed before they become a loss </li><li>Utilizes industry resources and connections to stay ahead of customer credit issues </li><li>Manages cash application, receipts and lock box </li><li>Research customer accounts and documents reasons for short or other payment discrepancies </li><li>Identifies causes for customer deductions, recommends operational changes that reduce/eliminate reoccurring deductions </li><li>Research credit information for new and current customer accounts, making limit suggestions </li><li>Proactively assesses customer risk regularly to identify high-risk customers and recommend changes to collections associated with them (such as pre-payment requirements) </li><li>Summarizes and prepares accounts for submission to collections agencies and attorneys as necessary </li><li>Analyzes customer accounts to proactively identify those that may require bankruptcy filings; initiates this process and oversees to completion as needed. </li><li>Creates demand letters and formulates emails to contact customers regarding delinquency </li><li>Maintains D&B database </li><li>Reconciles assigned accounts monthly and files supporting documentation </li><li>Documents all newly created account management procedures </li><li>Maintains customer master file in the ERP system; Adds and edits all vendor profiles and setup vendor accounts </li><li>Manages broker accounts, including establishment and maintenance of balances and authorized payments </li><li>Develops and reviews various brokerage reports, communicating information and taking actions as needed </li><li>Supports Sales team with analysis and reporting as needed </li><li>Performs other functions as assigned </li></ul> <p>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Not Applicable </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience </li><li>CBA or CBF certification preferred </li><li>3 - 5 years of accounting experience </li><li>3 - 5 years of experience with an ERP system </li><li>Strong organizational skills and detail oriented </li><li>Must be able to speak, read, and write in English </li><li>Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office applications </li><li>Medium to advanced skills using Microsoft Excel </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Detail Oriented: Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved no matter how small; monitors and checks work or information; and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently. </li><li>Communication: The ability to give and gather information and actively manage the communication process by asking questions, conveying complex information in plain language, listening and considering others' views, state own views clearly and concisely, and address conflict in a professional and productive manner. </li><li>Forward Thinking: The ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of a situation and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies. </li><li>Drive for Results: Dedicated to achieving the best results by taking a dynamic approach to work, perseveres and uses metrics to analyze performance. </li><li>Analytical Thinking: The ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic sequential approach. </li></ul> <p>Benefits for this role include: Medical, vision, dental, discretionary bonus up to 12% (50% personal performance based & 50% company performance), profit sharing (which feeds retirement) at a minimum of 3% annually and 120 hours PTO in the 1st 12 months.</p>
