<p>Join Our Team as a Grounds Technician</p> <p>The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking a Grounds Technician to provide maintenance, care and modification of all Town grounds and landscapes to ensure safe, well maintained, and pleasant conditions.</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>Conducts daily quality inspections of parks, pathways, sidewalks, roadways, facilities buildings, and parking lots to prevent, remove or report hazardous conditions </li><li>Ensures designated trash and recycle receptacles are being regularly emptied by contractors </li><li>Assists contractors by emptying overflowing cans from excessive use as needed </li><li>Assists contractors by collecting and properly disposing of loose litter and debris around parks, corridor medians, roadside shoulders and along pathways </li><li>Maintains dog stations by regularly filling doggie bags and removing waste from bins </li><li>Reports major litter spills to management to contact contractors for assistance as needed </li><li>Informs contractors about landscaping issues throughout parks, roads and pathways </li><li>Trims and removes landscape debris from pathways, roadsides and around facilities </li><li>Responsible for minor maintenance of roadway and pathway signs </li><li>Responsible for minor repairs, replacement and/or painting fences </li><li>Assists in setup and breakdown of chairs, tables, tents, fencing and barriers for Town Events </li><li>Assists with facilitating vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic for Town Events </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related experience in grounds maintenance </li><li>Facilities and/or landscape maintenance experience preferred </li><li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>May require varied work schedule </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li>A supportive environment where your skills and contributions are valued </li><li>A comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, a healthcare reimbursement arrangement, and a generous matching 401(k) plan </li></ul> <p>Why Work with Us?</p> <ul> <li>Impactful Work: Be at the forefront of projects that significantly enhance our community's infrastructure and quality of life </li><li>Collaborative Environment: Work with a talented team of dedicated professionals committed to innovation and excellence </li><li>Excellent Benefits: Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that supports your well-being and professional growth </li><li>Community-Centric Focus: Engage with community members and stakeholders to ensure projects meet the needs and expectations of our residents </li></ul> <p>Join us in making Hilton Head Island an even better place to live, work, and play!</p> <p>The Town of Hilton Head Island is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
