This position needs to be able to ensure that all accounting activities are delivered to management timely, accurately and in compliance with US GAAP. This position plays a crucial role reporting cost and inventory analysis as well as following the receipts and movement of our crude oils.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Safety & Environmental Performance</p> <p>Adhere to GMP when in the plants.</p> <p>Identify high-risk safety/ productivity issues and help remedy them.</p> <p>Work Requirements</p> <p>Prepare monthly financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.</p> <p>Ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.</p> <p>Provide proper reconciliation of all Balance sheet accounts.</p> <p>Oversee Accounting operations, which include financial accounting, inventory management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany transactions, cost analysis and payroll.</p> <p>Maintain the general ledger.</p> <p>Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.</p> <p>Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.</p> <p>Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.</p> <p>Review budget reports and assist other departments to prepare annual budgets.</p> <p>Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.</p> <p>Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.</p> <p>Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures.</p> <p>Monitor material expenses for accuracy as recorded by Purchasing into ERP accounting system and post entries.</p> <p>Oversee and maintain inventory, sales items, and General Ledger (G/L) accounts in ERP.</p> <p>Develop/utilize various M-E inventory evaluation schedules for closing procedures.</p> <p>Manage Banking/cash functions:</p> <p>Initiate wire transfers.</p> <p>Perform as an administrator on bank accounts.</p> <p>Inquire/void/copy check issues.</p> <p>Make G/L entries for M-E and Y-E closings in ERP.</p> <p>Perform cost accounting and cost analysis</p> <p>Monitor oil purchases, consumption, and settlements accruals.</p> <p>Develop/use ME inventory evaluations.</p> <p>Provide cost information for newly developed products.</p> <p>Maintain workflow of employees in the department.</p> <p>Support all accounting functions, including Controller responsibilities, when needed.</p> <p>Promulgate accounting principles to other disciplines when required.</p> <p>Perform other duties/analysis as tasked by the Controller.</p> <p>About you</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business administration</p> <p>Five years g/l accounting experience</p> <p>Five years manufacturing cost accounting experience</p> <p>Excellent/ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills</p> <p>Experience in commodities market preferred</p> <p>CPA/ MBA preferred</p> <p>Strong team player.</p> <p>In return AAK offer</p> <p>Career paths, training and development, e-learning and tuition reimbursement programs offer potential for you to progress your future career</p> <p>Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental and vision) starting date of hire</p> <p>Health Savings Account with AAK annual contribution of $1,000-$1,500</p> <p>We match 100% of the first 3% you contribute to your 401(k), and 50% of the next 3%</p> <p>Free Life and Disability insurance</p> <p>Employee Assistance Program</p> <p>Supplemental Pet Insurance, Identity Theft Protection and Legal Insurance Plans</p> <p>Discounts on travel, amusement parks, concerts, movies, and more</p> <p>Celebrations, events, and activities on site and supporting our communities</p> <p>Recognition incentives for service and peer to peer recognition</p> <p>About AAK</p> <p>Everything AAK does is about Making Better Happen.
