If you are passionate about education, equity, and making a difference in the lives of students, we invite you to apply.</p> <p>The Health Aide/Paraprofessional provides support to the educational program by assisting in providing health services to students; following educational and health care plan/services; supporting daily activities, and providing behavioral/academic support.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>-Under supervision and guidance of the classroom teacher, the paraprofessional/health aide will support the academic program and instructional activities. </li><li>-Under the supervision and guidance of the school nurse, the paraprofessional/health aide will support the health needs of the student. </li><li>-Assists in supervision of students throughout the day including lunch, arrival/departure, electives, field trips etc. </li><li>-Implements prescribed behavior plans, mealtime procedures, IEP goals, specific accommodations, student mobility, assistive and/or augmentative devices. </li><li>-Assists the student(s) in the classroom and (as needed) with behavior management, and/or physical tasks such as using materials or equipment, using the restroom, positioning, and lifting students with physical disabilities. </li><li>-Assist the student with changing and toileting support as needed. </li><li>-Performs other specific job-related duties as directed. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>-Ability to physically assist students with disabilities - minimum 50 pounds (e.g., mobility, transferring, positioning, etc.). </li><li>-Health aide, nursing coursework and experience. </li><li>-Certification maintenance required for CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care training, which will be provided through district support. </li><li>-Early education experience preferred. </li><li>-Experience with students with disabilities preferred. </li></ul>
