<p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>Quality Management System</p> <ul> <li>Lead by example, demonstrate core values daily </li><li>Promote continuous improvement </li><li>Promote Risk-based thinking </li><li>Interpret and implement ISO 9001 standards </li><li>Coordinate and support surveillance and recertification audits conducted by external providers </li><li>Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions </li><li>Facilitate Management Review meetings </li><li>Maintain the quality metrics dashboard spreadsheet monthly </li><li>Maintain the ISO QMS board postings </li><li>Manage internal audit process </li><li>Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system </li><li>Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions </li><li>Facilitate CAPA and OFI review meetings </li><li>Quality records retention and control </li><li>Maintain calibration program for measuring equipment and schedule annual calibration </li><li>Monitor risk management activities (ISO 9001:2015) </li><li>Promote a quality culture </li></ul> <p>Internal Quality</p> <ul> <li>Determine personnel resource needs for the inspection function </li><li>Manage the quality function budget </li><li>Select quality equipment and inspection tools, and software, to support the inspection team </li><li>Aim to make production employees responsible for managing their own quality standards, i.e. QATS and FVMT Guidelines and Workmanship Standards </li><li>Identify quality training needs and organize training to meet quality standards </li><li>Issue quality alerts </li><li>MRB Input </li><li>Support continuous improvement activities </li></ul> <p>Supplier Quality</p> <ul> <li>Support Purchasing in supplier selections </li><li>Work with suppliers to ensure quality requirements are met </li><li>Visit suppliers to conduct supplier quality audits </li><li>Communicate when suppliers are not meeting quality standards, and actions to be taken </li></ul> <p>Customer Quality</p> <ul> <li>Support customers' supplier audits </li><li>Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, and root cause customer returns </li><li>Develop and implement customer corrective actions </li><li>Send out customer questionnaires every 18 months </li><li>Maintain customers' quality notes matrices </li><li>Drive quality into project activities to ensure product meets customers' requirements </li></ul> <p>Training and Development</p> <ul> <li>VT Level II certification and maintenance for the inspection team </li><li>Romer CMM training for the inspection team </li><li>Recommends development training for the quality team </li><li>Improve self through training and development </li></ul> <p>Secondary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage and administer the Welder Workmanship Training program </li><li>Assist CWI in the development of weld procedures and welder qualifications </li><li>Maintain schedules for welder continuity quarterly and annual vison exams </li><li>Maintain schedule for annual weld machine calibrations </li><li>Manage welding qualification-related costs </li><li>Assist with review of specifications and customers' deliverables requirements </li><li>Develop forms, checklists, process flow diagrams, etc., as needed to improve performance designated areas </li><li>Perform CWI as needed </li><li>Answer technical questions from the inspection team </li><li>Serve as a resource for other departments </li><li>Work with manufacturing department leaders to improve quality and reduce rework </li><li>Serve as member of management safety team </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or similar/related program required </li><li>In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a combination of an Associate degree with proven work experience in the metal fabrication industry with hands on operation and supervision responsibilities in multiple fabrication processes may be substituted; specifically in quality, welding, machining, and finishing operations </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Production or engineering experience in a custom sheet metal fabrication business is desired </li><li>Five plus years' experience in managing or supervising quality assurance and quality control in a manufacturing setting </li><li>Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and machining specifications preferred </li><li>Knowledge of metals and raw materials along with the understanding of production processes, and costs of manufacturing is a plus </li><li>Good analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Knowledge of industry principles such as lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies is preferred </li></ul> <p>Specialized Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and application of ISO 9001:2015 Standard </li><li>Proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) preferred </li><li>Accurate manufacturing blueprint reading experience required </li><li>Working knowledge of American Welding Society and Military welding procedures and specifications preferred </li><li>Excellent communication skills at all levels within an organization </li></ul>
