<p>Position: 40 hours per week</p> <p>Benefits: Full time benefit package</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Development Educators, plans, implements and evaluates educational and quality improvement activities on the nursing unit. Role-models excellence in patient care through clinical practice, continuous quality improvement and integration of new nursing knowledge into practice. Adheres to all standards of nursing care and standards within the job description.</p> <p>Unit Overview:</p> <p>Labor & Delivery - P3</p> <p>The Labor & Delivery Unit (L&D) cares for pregnant women through all phases of their pregnancy, including the antepartum, intrapartum and the immediate postpartum phases. L&D has 12 labor, delivery and recovery rooms with two dedicated operating rooms, two pre-op/PACU beds and a five-bed triage.</p> <p>As part of a Baby-Friendly designated hospital, the L&D Unit employs an Obstetric Hospitalist Model for the provider group and the unit has one of the largest midwifery practices in the state. The unit cares for low- to high-risk patients from around the region with the goal of providing the safest outcome for both mothers and babies.
