<p>Job Opening: Training Clerk</p> <p>Reporting Structure: Major of Training Operations</p> <p>Posting Date: May 6, 2025</p> <p>Facility: George W. Hill</p> <p>Salary: $20.00 Hourly</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Major of Training Operations, the training clerk is responsible for assisting with the operations and administrative tasks within the training department and works to ensure compliance with all applicable standards regarding training in the facility. The clerk performs clerical duties, as assigned.</p> <p>Examples of Duties (Illustrative Only):</p> <p>Communicates with a wide variety of persons and agencies with a positive, helpful attitude.</p> <p>Assisting newcomers to the training department and orienting to the area.</p> <p>Helping maintain workplace security by issuing, checking, and collecting badges as necessary.</p> <p>Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including copying, faxing, taking notes, and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Preparing meeting and training rooms.</p> <p>Ensuring AV equipment is available and functional.</p> <p>Organizing training materials and ensuring up to date and accurate information is being provided.</p> <p>Answering phones in a professional manner.</p> <p>Assisting colleagues with administrative tasks.</p> <p>Performing ad-hoc administrative duties.</p> <p>Answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls.</p> <p>Provide excellent customer service.</p> <p>Scheduling on-site training partnerships and coordinating with off-site training opportunities.</p> <p>Managing training certifications, employee attendance, feedback, and records.</p> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies</p> <p>Verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with agencies, training partners, accrediting bodies, and other employees.</p> <p>Attentive to detail</p> <p>Organization skills to keep accurate records and find important information quickly.</p> <p>Time management skills to prioritize and complete a side variety of tasks throughout the day.</p> <p>Proficiency in computer software, to include but not limited to, Microsoft PowerPoint.</p> <p>Interpersonal skills to create a pleasant experience for all persons in the training department, such as being personable and attentive.</p> <p>Working Environment</p> <p>Standard jail facility and office environment. Incumbent may be involved in sitting and walking at will, walking/standing and/or sitting for long periods, lifting/ carrying heavy objects, crouching/kneeling, bending at the waist, close and far vision, reaching, handling/ grasping/fingering objects, hearing sounds/communication. Incumbent is frequently exposed to the hazards associated with jail operations, such as potentially violent individuals and communicable disease.
