<p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Senior Director of Transportation will spearhead the strategic vision and operational effectiveness of our transportation network while leading a sizable, high-impact team. Your leadership will be instrumental in optimizing store delivery and transportation support, ensuring strong financial performance and reinforcing the organization's ability to deliver exceptional service and customer satisfaction. This pivotal role demands a dynamic leader capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration, and cultivating a high-performing team. You will also serve as a key company representative in litigation matters related to transportation.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Description</p> <ul> <li> <p>Drive Operational Excellence: Lead and optimize all store delivery activities and related transportation functions (transfers, storage pullbacks, reverse logistics, etc.) across the assigned regions, utilizing both private and third-party dedicated resources to ensure efficiency and reliability.</p> </li><li> <p>Strategic Financial Management: Develop and execute strategies focused on optimizing P&L performance, including accurate forecasting of expenses and income, and achieving annual budget targets. Lead cross-departmental projects to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Champion Customer Experience: Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service through consistent on-time delivery performance, proactive communication, and accurate invoicing processes. Actively engage with key customers through store visits, top-to-top meetings, and transportation summits to understand their evolving needs and identify opportunities for transportation to drive value.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster Cross-Functional Alignment: Maintain strong alignment and collaboration between field operations, routing, and process and planning sub-functions to maximize resource utilization and consistently achieve or exceed contractual on-time delivery levels and regional goals. Partner effectively with inbound, planning, warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure seamless execution of cross-functional objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop High-Performing Teams: Ensure regional and local leadership operates at expected levels of productivity, safety, and compliance. Establish clear expectations for team members, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and challenge the team to continually improve and expand their capabilities. Develop robust talent development and succession plans to build a pipeline of future leaders.</p> </li><li> <p>Strategic Carrier Partnerships: Collaborate with the carrier management function to address non-dedicated third-party carrier needs, including shuttles, large capacity constraints, and surge requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Company Representation: Serve as a knowledgeable and authoritative company representative in litigation matters related to transportation, working closely with legal counsel.</p> </li><li> <p>Travel Required:Yes</p> </li></ul> <p>Environment</p> <ul> <li> <p>Office : Office Temperature (65F to 75F)</p> </li><li> <p>Warehouse : Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)</p> </li><li> <p>Warehouse : Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)</p> </li><li> <p>Warehouse : Freezer (-20F to 0F)</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li> <p>Specialized Knowledge : Knowledge of computer systems, both PC based (MS Suite), as well as familiarity of transportation systems (Manhattan, FourKites) is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Special Skills : Ability to partner cross-functionally, Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills. Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical abilities: :</p> </li><li> <p>Other: : 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain, with significant experience in transportation and logistics management. Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and drive them to successful completion. Demonstrated success in developing talent, implementing effective succession planning strategies, and building high-performing teams. Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of managing significant budgets and driving P&L optimization. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation</p> </li></ul> <p>Years Of Experience</p> <ul> <li>10-15 : years of relevant experience.
