We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.</p> <p>Mach Industries is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to join our autonomy hardware team, developing robust embedded systems for next-generation unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). You will work at the intersection of software and hardware, bringing up custom platforms and integrating advanced sensors to enable autonomous operations in contested environments. This role is perfect for someone who excels in low-level system development, thrives on debugging hardware-software interfaces, and is passionate about building reliable embedded solutions for aerospace applications.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and maintain board support packages (BSPs) for custom UAV hardware platforms, ensuring compatibility with autonomy workloads.</p> </li><li> <p>Configure device trees, pinmux settings, and peripheral interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, MIPI CSI) for sensors and avionics components.</p> </li><li> <p>Integrate advanced sensors, such as MIPI CSI cameras, LiDAR, and radar, into Linux-based UAV systems, including support for SerDes bridges (e.g., GMSL, FPD-Link).</p> </li><li> <p>Build and customize Yocto-based Linux distributions (or equivalent) optimized for embedded UAV platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with electrical engineers to debug hardware-software integration issues, using tools like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and UART consoles.</p> </li><li> <p>Write and modify Linux kernel drivers for custom hardware, focusing on I2C, SPI, MIPI CSI, and V4L2 subsystems.</p> </li><li> <p>Support low-level platform bring-up on SoCs such as NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, or similar, tailored for real-time UAV applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to software-hardware interface specifications during board design cycles to ensure seamless integration.</p> </li><li> <p>Optimize embedded systems for real-time performance, power efficiency, and reliability in high-stakes aerospace environments.</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of experience in embedded Linux development for mission-critical applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Deep expertise in device tree configuration, pinmux setup, and BSP customization for embedded platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency with Yocto or equivalent Linux build systems for creating tailored distributions.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience developing and debugging Linux kernel drivers, particularly for I2C, SPI, MIPI CSI, and V4L2 subsystems.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong debugging skills with hardware tools, including logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and UART consoles.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read schematics and collaborate effectively with electrical engineers.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in C, C++, Bash, and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python).</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms and the Linux for Tegra (L4T) stack for autonomy applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with GMSL or FPD-Link SerDes camera integration for high-bandwidth sensor data.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of real-time system constraints and performance optimization in embedded aerospace systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to Nix or NixOS-based workflows for reproducible builds.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Rust for systems programming in embedded environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with defense standards for embedded systems resilience and reliability.</p> </li></ul> <p>Benefits at Mach Industries</p> <p>Mach Industries supports our team with a comprehensive benefits package:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Competitive Compensation: Competitive salary and equity grants based on experience and skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Healthcare & Wellness: Platinum-level medical, dental, and vision coverage at no cost to U.S. employees, with 90% coverage for dependents.</p> </li><li> <p>Generous Time Off: 13 holidays, a December holiday shutdown (10 extra days off), and competitive PTO policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Daily Meals & Snacks: Catered lunches and fully stocked kitchens with snacks, drinks, and a coffee bar.</p> </li><li> <p>Retirement: 401(k) with a 5% match (U.S. only).</p> </li><li> <p>Relocation Assistance: Support for eligible positions to ensure a smooth transition.</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Mach Industries?</p> <p>Join a dynamic team at Mach Industries to push the boundaries of embedded systems for autonomous UAVs.
