<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Who We Are:</p> <p>Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. The Child and Adolescent Services team (CAST) is seeking a full-time, licensed, child and family supervisor to join our newly developed community programs team. This position will supervise clinical staff at the Davis Child Advocacy Center, Chesterfield Recovery Academy, and the Juvenile Detention Center. CAST is a fun-loving and energetic team that highly values continuing professional growth, self-care, and a supportive work environment. We are seeking a candidate who values diversity and inclusion as well as compassionate care techniques as they are embedded in a community mental health outpatient program that supports trauma-informed care practices. If this is you, then come join our team!</p> <p>Minimum Education and Experience:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in related field (master's degree preferred); three years of increasingly responsible job-related experience to include two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. At least three years of professional experience working within a human service field preferred. Experience in the systems of care approach for children and adolescents, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care and cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) preferred. Experience with an electronic health record preferred.</p> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Considerable knowledge of theories, principles and practices of community behavioral, prevention and/or intellectual disability (ID) programming; of principles and techniques of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of persons with behavioral health disorders; of relevant mental health laws. Ability to plan and organize a behavioral health project and/or components of a program; to interpret and apply county, state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines related to the assigned program; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff. Considerable knowledge and experience in the provision of evidence-based therapy practices for individuals with histories of substance use, co-occurring mental health, trauma/abuse, and detention preferred; experience developing and implementing training programs for clinical staff preferred; ability to navigate and assist others in navigating technology to perform their daily work preferred; proficiency in clinical documentation preferred. Those candidates with verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <p>Must hold an active professional license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).</p> <p>Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the preceding twenty-four months, or a major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of the interview date.</p> <p>Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.</p> <p>Duties</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises, trains, mentors, and evaluates the work of assigned staff; provides clinical and administrative supervision; </li><li>Recruits and onboards new staff; </li><li>Provides operational oversight for key processes on the team including the management of assigned community programs; </li><li>Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote the program, enhances connection and communication throughout the agency and county, and monitors and manages referrals; </li><li>Ensures documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) is in accordance with licensure, agency policies, Medicaid and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards; </li><li>Works closely with the leadership team and staff to continually develop the program through ongoing assessment of needs, researching and implementing evidence-based practices, and making strategic decisions to improve program quality and outcomes; </li><li>Develops and implements objectives, policies and procedures for assigned program unit; </li><li>May assist and participate in budget preparation and planning; </li><li>Maintains a small caseload of clients and/or handles the more difficult and complex cases, and </li><li>Performs other work as required. </li></ul> <p>Shift</p> <p>Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 4 hours required after 5:00 p.m. on occasion</p> <p>Work Location</p> <p>Mental Health Support Services</p>
