Engineers will have the opportunity to work closely with our team onsite to understand the variety of use cases that Peregrine serves.</p> <p>We're looking for a security engineer to join our core engineering teams. Our teams tackle a range of challenges, from enabling real-time user collaboration on detailed maps to building high-scale backend architecture for ingesting billions of data points.</p> <p>We believe that humility and empathy are essential for building the right solutions-you will collaborate directly with our deployment team and users as we iterate to solve their problems. Perseverance and creativity are crucial to executing our vision.</p> <p>Role</p> <p>We are looking for a software engineer to join our growing team where you will have vast ownership across our stacks, making decisions that will have an outsized impact for years to come. You will take on a leading role in ensuring security is embedded into every stage of our product lifecycle.</p> <p>Our stack is constantly evolving but based on a backend foundation of Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, and Kafka; a frontend built in React, Redux, and Mapbox; data stores including PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch; machine learning models hosted in Bedrock and Sagemaker; and with AWS, Pulumi, Terraform, and Kubernetes as our underlying infrastructure.</p> <p>About you</p> <ul> <li>Build scalable, secure-by-default frameworks that are foundational to our infrastructure, ensuring first-in-class data security. </li><li>Identify and resolve emerging security risks and define mitigation strategies to drive solutions that support our product objectives </li><li>Define security architecture across the platform with a focus on authentication, authorization, data protection, and software supply chain security </li><li>Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to implement security best practices. </li><li>Grow engineering talent through hands-on mentorship while fostering strong security values </li></ul> <p>What we look for</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience architecting and maintaining distributed data systems and cloud-based platforms </li><li>Deep knowledge across areas that include: identity and access management, secret management, applied cryptography, secure system design, and cloud security. </li><li>Strong development background in technologies and languages that include Python </li><li>Proven success coaching and developing senior engineers </li><li>Demonstrated ability in technical execution and leadership </li><li>Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Ability to work on-site at our San Francisco or New York City office </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $200,000 - $275,000 Annually + Benefits + Equity (if applicable) + Bonus (if applicable)</p> <p>Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, certifications or licenses, and specific work location.
