<p>Are you endlessly curious, hardworking, and do you have a service mindset? Do you love taking things apart to understand how they work? If you are detail oriented, and you love photography, this rare opportunity could be for you. As a Photo-Instrumentation Specialist, you will use scientific and industrial photographic techniques and equipment to capture visual data and analyze it to solve problems and conduct research. You will travel extensively, often at short notice, to work alongside Designers and Engineers through all stages of Tesla's product life cycle, from research and development to testing, from mining and advance manufacturing to even recycling. You will be part of a small and highly specialized team that works on almost everything Tesla makes including energy products, vehicles, autonomy, humanoid robots and much more.</p> <ul> <li>Develop an expert level of knowledge and understanding of high-speed and thermal-imaging cameras, lighting systems, and scientific imaging techniques </li><li>Work closely with engineers and test requestors to develop and prepare capture plans, including appropriate frame rates, exposure times, lens choices, required light levels, camera mounting, etc. </li><li>Travel to test or manufacturing locations, setup cameras and lights, acquire and backup images </li><li>Perform image analysis using various motion-tracking software packages </li><li>Keep detailed logs of equipment and settings used, document setups, and produce reports or presentations </li><li>Maintain all imaging equipment to ensure functionality and readiness </li><li>Acquire and maintain a drone pilot license (Remote Pilot Certificate, under FAA Part 107) </li><li>Work on simple electronics, soldering, wire-harnesses, basic circuit board layout </li><li>Operate diagnostic tools (scopes, meters), and shop equipment (power / hand tools) </li><li>Use CAD / 3D modeling software to design simple mechanical parts </li><li>Proven experience as a photographer or cinematographer, or have a science background, with demonstrated expertise and interest in technical imaging </li><li>Experience with high-speed cameras and a variety of lighting systems including LED, HMI, Strobe, and LASERs </li><li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci Resolve, etc. </li><li>Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, adapting to new situations quickly and efficiently </li><li>Enthusiasm to travel often and with short notice for fieldwork across diverse and challenging environments </li><li>Ability to lift, move, and travel with heavy equipment cases (>30kg) </li><li>Ability to work at heights (scissor / boom lifts, work platforms) </li><li>Valid driver license </li><li>Preferred - Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques (Schlieren, DIC, PIV), and motion analysis software (TEMA, GOM) </li><li>Preferred - Programming skills (Python), MATLAB, Computer Vision, Machine Learning </li></ul>
