<p>This leader of physical therapy plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, comprehensive care to student-athletes, focusing on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries and illnesses. This position requires close collaboration with team physicians for appropriate referrals and with the Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning staff to design and implement individualized rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols. The position will also contribute to the overall function of the sports medicine program by helping to oversee rehabilitative services and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.</p> <p>In addition to these clinical responsibilities, the physical therapist works collaboratively with departments such as Academic Services, Mental Health, Performance Nutrition, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, and the Equipment Room to promote a positive and holistic student-athlete experience.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Master's or Doctorate of Physical Therapy. </li><li>Experience providing treatment and rehabilitation of orthopedic/athletic injuries. </li><li>Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC). (Preferred) </li><li>New York Athletic Training Certification eligible by the start of employment. (Preferred) </li><li>1-3 plus years of work experience at a Division One institution. (Preferred) </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>CPR Certified. </li><li>Training in Bloodborne pathogens. </li><li>Certified in Functional Movement Screening. (Preferred) </li><li>Soft Tissue Mobilization certification. (Preferred) </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the Head of Athletic Rehabilitation focusing on Football. </li><li>Provide quality comprehensive care for through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses and with injury rehabilitation. </li><li>Traveling nationally and internationally with the team. </li><li>Compile and maintain injury and treatment documentation for the Sports Medicine Department including injury tracking and reporting. </li><li>Establish, coordinate, supervise, and monitor athletic rehabilitation services. </li><li>Perform administrative job duties within the Sports Medicine Department. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
