The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University.</p> <p>The Associate Director for Counseling Services is responsible for the administration and oversight of the APA-accredited Health Service Psychology internship training program. This includes recruiting, selecting, and orienting interns; planning and scheduling training experiences; coordinating services provided by external consultants and supervisors; managing communication and documentation with interns' doctoral training programs; providing clinical supervision; maintaining all documentation required for APA accreditation; and attending the ACCTA conference. The Associate Director also leads the administration of externship services and seminars, including the externship supervision seminar. They supervise doctoral interns and externs in the administration of screening and psychotherapy, provide personal, vocational, and academic counseling and psychotherapy to counseling center clients, and manage the summer rotation schedule for interns. Additionally, the Associate Director consults with members of the Pace Community on psychological, emotional, and environmental issues that affect student development.</p> <p>Position Duties</p> <ul> <li>Provide counseling for students regarding personal, academic, vocational, and educational matters. </li><li>Provide crisis intervention during business hours and assisting with back up on-call and walk-in coverage. </li><li>Maintain complete and professionally appropriate office records. </li><li>Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Psychology Internship Program. This includes application, recruitment, and orientation process; interview and selection process; communications with interns home program; supervision of the clinical work of each intern; conducting meetings with interns; evaluation of interns progress; documentation and communication with the American Psychological Association around maintenance of accreditation; overall evaluation of the internship training program; attend ACCTA conference. </li><li>Supervision of externship activities, services and seminars provided by the Counseling Center. </li><li>Leads externship supervision seminar. </li><li>Provides consultation services for faculty and administrative offices. </li><li>Participates in projects, programs, groups, outreach efforts, and workshops offered by Counseling Services and/or requested by other University offices and groups in an effort to attract, recruit, and retain diverse student population. </li><li>Interact with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and professionals regarding individual clients, program development, and problem resolution. </li><li>Assist the Director of Counseling in preparing Counseling Center reports and assist in interfacing with University-wide initiatives and committees and represent Counseling Center on student experience. </li><li>Leadership role in managing crises on campus and participate in emergency-preparedness initiatives. </li><li>Organizes quality assurance surveys of individual, group, and screening (once per semester). </li><li>Creates and and coordinates the trainee caseload, the Master Schedule (daily list of training and Center activities and responsibilities), and the Important Dates (annual). </li><li>Performs other such duties as assigned from time to time. </li></ul> <p>Supervision Exercised</p> <p>Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Health Service Psychology Internship Program. This includes functional supervision of the clinical work of each intern and extern. Provides supervision of staff in university-wide crisis intervention services.</p> <p>Work Hours</p> <p>Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and when crises occur after hours during on-call rotation.</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology. </li><li>Licensure (or license eligible within one year) as a Psychologist in New York State. </li><li>Strong administrative/clinical experience in a university counseling center or similar mental health setting. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills. </li><li>Experience in the supervision of mental health professionals. </li><li>Strong background in supervision issues. </li><li>Training in APA-accredited programs. </li></ul>
