<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Position performs duties as a skilled Plumber, utilizing the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the Plumbing Trades. Inspects, repairs, and maintains all plumbing and related mechanical operations, including heating and ventilating, and the distribution systems in accordance with the provisions of the plumbing codes, pertinent plans, and specifications or work orders.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting hourly rate will be $49.49, $50.27, or $51.08 per hour, depending on the amount of paid leave selected. This position is in pay schedule/range is 04-00. A twelve month probationary period is required. This classification is included in the Building & Trades Bargaining unit.</p> <p>DOC is a great place to work! Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Must possess, maintain, and carry a valid license issued by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Safety and Professional Services, to allow for performing plumbing installation, maintenance service and repair of institution equipment and systems as an unrestricted Master Plumber OR a Journeyman Plumber with the ability to obtain a Master Plumber license prior to the end of the twelve month probation period.
