<p>The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) operates multiple, diverse healthcare delivery settings at the Ann Arbor facility. The physician assistant will function within the setting of the neurology section of the department at the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center.</p> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.</p> <p>All physician assistants who are allowed to provide and deliver professional services (evaluation, treatment and consultation) may do so in all applicable care settings. It is understood that the requested procedures as marked below represent the areas in which the applicant believes he/she can demonstrate proficiency. The applicant understands that these procedures are not approved until they are recommended by the Service Chief and Chief of Staff and approved by the Medical Center Director. Any applicant may opt out of any core procedure he/she does not feel competent or confident performing.</p> <p>The physician assistant (PA) is authorized to perform the following duties as granted. During the performance of the following duties, a staff physician must be available for consultation by telephone and, if summoned, be physically present at the site of the procedure within a reasonable period of time. There will be participating physicians other than those listed on the signature page.</p> <p>As an agent of the participating physician, the PA is authorized to write medical orders on inpatients and/or outpatients assigned to the facility for care. Every order or prescription written by the PA will be within the parameter of his/her scope of practice and will be in collaboration with a participating physician(s).</p> <p>All orders, discharge summaries, progress notes, consultation requests and history and physical examinations written by the PA will be clearly identified as such in the written or electronic medical records. Each patient's final progress note and discharge summary must be co-signed by the participating physician. The PA is authorized to write prescriptions for medications listed in the standard hospital/clinic formulary, excluding controlled substances in Schedule I. Request for non-formulary medications will be entered as a Non-Formulary Consult in CPRS for review and approval.</p> <p>Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm</p> <p>Telework: Not available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p>
