<p>Closing Date: 05/15/2026, or upon receipt of the first 50 applicant submissions</p> <p>Clerical Specialist - Sheriffs Full-time Hourly Range: $19.00 - $25.31</p> <p>Candidates must upload a current resume when applying for this position. This resume will be utilized to review relevant work experience and qualifications.</p> <p>Scheduling: These open positions will work on 2nd shift from 2:30pm - 10:30pm and 3rd shift from 10:30pm - 6:30am including weekends, holidays and mandatory overtime is required.</p> <p>Job Summary: Clerical Specialist staff are responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining booking packets, mailing, court, and warrant records. Interacting with court staff, court officers, law enforcement personnel, and addressing inquiries from the public. Staff are responsible for collecting monies owed for bond payments and other law enforcement agencies as well as registering and monitoring onsite personal video visiting.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>Arrest data entry as it pertains to the individuals names, demographics, charges, bonds, detainers, and notifications. Print applicable court paperwork, assign court dates, and make necessary photocopies for dissemination. Ensure MCSO entries are correct and complete in the TIME System. Communicate with courts and other entities for validation of entries. Disseminate information via phone and direct public contact. Sort court paperwork for distribution, assist correctional officers, file, pull, purge, and scan occupant files. Enter all incoming and outgoing occupant mail. Liaison between the MCSO and other law enforcement agencies. Responsible for updating booking records after court appearances. Add charges when applicable and determine if an occupant is eligible for release to include pulling the occupant packet and delivering it to Jail Records. Liaison between Jail Records and the courts. Assist in registration of personal onsite video visits. Address questions from the public regarding visitation. Run want and warrant checks for all onsite visitors. Make necessary notifications for wanted individuals. Serve as a liaison betweent the MCSO and HomeWav.(Currently there is no onsite visiting) Confirm all hit requests for Milwaukee County warrants. Enter, cancel, and amend all warrants, stolen vehicles, missing persons, and TRO/Injunctions. Audit and validate all warrant entries. Address all phone calls and inquiries related to warrants. Receive, secure, and issue receipts for bond, commitment, and warrant payments. Assist with completing the 8300 tax form (for bails exceeding $9,999) and obtaining signatures. Other duties as assigned - ability to receive instruction and complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>Current residency within the State of Wisconsin High School diploma or equivalent Basic proficiency in all related computer and software applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel required At least one (1) year experience in an office clerical or administrative setting, with exposure to customer service</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Cash handling experience</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of office/customer service principles, methods, and practices; oral and written communication skills; analytical skills, basic math skills, skill in data entry and in using a personal computer. Plan and work independently in a fast-paced environment; ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others. Ability to make sound decisions according to the policy and procedures of the department without necessity for the continued intervention by a supervisor. Ability to proficiently answer incoming calls and provide accurate information without providing legal advice or insertion of personal opinions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 15 lbs.</p> <p>NOTE: This ORIGINAL APPLICATION is open to qualified residents of the State of Wisconsin at the time of application.
