<p>Position Overview</p> <p>Merrimack Health system is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our Emergency Department team. This position is a 0.85 FTE (34 clinical hours per week) role, with clinical responsibilities across both the Methuen and Haverhill Emergency Departments.</p> <p>About Methuen and Haverhill campuses.</p> <p>Merrimack Health Methuen and Haverill (formerly Holy Family Hospital) is a 310-bed full service, acute care hospital with two campuses located in Methuen and Haverhill, Massachusetts. We provide expert care in orthopedics, wound care, women's health, cardiovascular services, stroke, and behavioral health. The Methuen campuses offers inpatient medical/surgical units, advanced ICU capabilities (Methuen), Ob/Gyn, and specialized psychiatric care. Haverhill is transitioning to become a satellite ED on October 1st and will continue to offer 24/7 emergency services including advanced imaging.</p> <ul> <li>Methuen ED: Serving more than 35,000 visits annually, the Methuen Emergency Department is a busy, full-service ED staffed with emergency physicians and advanced practice providers. </li><li>Haverhill ED: A community-focused department with over 18,000 annual visits, the Haverhill Emergency Department provides high-quality, patient-centered emergency care, supported by a collaborative and collegial team. Haverhill is transitioning to become a satellite ED on October 1st and will continue to offer 24/7 emergency services including advanced imaging. </li></ul> <p>Both departments operate on a shared Meditech electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring seamless care and coordination across campuses.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct emergency care to patients across all acuity levels in both Methuen and Haverhill EDs. </li><li>Perform comprehensive histories, physical exams, diagnostic ordering/interpretation, and procedures within APP scope. </li><li>Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing, and consultants to deliver efficient, evidence-based care. </li><li>Participate in maintaining throughput, patient safety, and quality benchmarks. </li><li>Contribute to a positive, team-based environment that values compassion, service excellence, and professional growth. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. </li><li>ACLS and PALS required. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year of active Emergency Department practice (post-training). </li><li>Strong clinical skills in emergency medicine procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, I&D, fracture management). </li><li>Commitment to patient-centered care, teamwork, and continuous improvement. </li></ul> <p>Schedule & Employment</p> <ul> <li>0.85 FTE - 34 clinical hours per week. </li><li>Coverage across both Methuen and Haverhill ED campuses. The base salary range is $88.00 to $118.00 hourly, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.</p> <p>Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations.
