<p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Food Service Assistant provides support in areas such as production, safety, sanitation, customer service, catered events and other aspects as needed.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and serve daily meals in accordance with the menu. This also includes preparing and the set up/break down of on-site events. </li><li>Provide exceptional & timely customer service to all individuals that enter the food service area. </li><li>Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships among staff, residents and community volunteers. </li><li>Quality food production within the HACCP program to maintain food safety. Establish a safe & sanitary work environment. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>At least 6 months of cooking experience preferred. </li><li>1+ year experience working with large groups of people. </li><li>Experience with non-profit organizations recommended. </li><li>G.E.D or High School Diploma or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>U.S labor and health laws, mass quantity cooking </li><li>Cooking, Baking. </li><li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities, with a sense of urgency </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Experience working with vulnerable populations. </li><li>Ability to be professional, flexible, respectful, and calm. </li><li>Ability to work well with others. </li><li>Ability to lead by example. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred. </li></ul>
