You will be responsible for collecting and curating high-quality data under tight deadlines and assisting with the maintenance and management of insect colonies. Your work will take place in diverse settings, including greenhouses, growth chambers, and field environments.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Execute insect and plant-based experiments with a team. </li><li>Collect and curate high-quality data under deadlines. </li><li>Assist with insect colony tasks including daily maintenance, diet preparation, egg collection, and sanitation. </li><li>Work with plants and insects in greenhouse, growth chamber, or field settings. </li><li>Ensure all materials necessary for rearing insect colonies and executing assays are prepared properly and on time. </li><li>Conduct miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, handling, packaging, and storing facility supplies and materials. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED required. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in entomology, agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, or related field, or three or more years of related experience is preferred. </li><li>Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow standard operating and safety protocols. </li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills. </li><li>High degree of self-motivation and positive attitude. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as a team member with minimal supervision. </li><li>Basic computer skills, including MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand and sit for long periods. </li><li>Capability to lift up to 30 lbs. </li><li>Tolerance for performing repetitive work in warm, humid conditions. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Work is conducted Monday through Friday on the 1st shift. The role requires working in various settings, including greenhouses and growth chambers, which can be warm and humid.
