<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Alumni Communications and Engagement Officer plays a key role in strengthening the college's relationship with its alumni and community through creative communications, strategic engagement initiatives, and collaborative programming. This position is responsible for developing and executing communications, programs and events that foster meaningful alumni connections, drive participation in the life of the College, and support the goals of Institutional Advancement.</p> <p>Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Alumni Communications and Engagement Officer works across the Advancement team and with campus partners to deliver integrated alumni communications through multiple channels, as well as plan and execute engagement opportunities that promote lifelong involvement with the College. This role collaborates closely with the Individual Giving Officer to align communications and appeals that encourage alumni giving and/or participation, and with the Events Coordinator to promote and support signature alumni events, reunions, and regional programming. In addition, this role works closely with the College's marketing department to ensure alignment on branding, content, and messaging.</p> <p>This position emphasizes storytelling, digital outreach, event marketing, and data-informed engagement strategies that contribute to alumni participation, donor pipeline development, and a stronger sense of community. A key performance metric for this role is the annual increase in alumni engagement across all channels and activities, both through IA efforts and capturing engagement across campus. The Officer will also lead the development and launch of an Alumni Legacy Society, celebrating the multigenerational families and long-term alumni involvement.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a comprehensive alumni communications strategy across digital, print and social media platforms to promote institutional priorities, alumni achievements, and engagement opportunities. </li><li>Serve as a lead content creator for alumni newsletters, class notes, event invitations, giving campaigns, and alumni-facing website content. </li><li>Collaborate with the institution's Marketing and Communications team to ensure alignment with all alumni engagement efforts, including overseeing alumni communications through the Alumni Magazine and Alumni social media pages. </li><li>Work in close partnership with the Individual Giving Officer to support annual fund appeals and Day of Giving segmented outreach, testimonials, and donor engagement storytelling. </li><li>Partner with the Events Coordinator to plan, promote, and support alumni events, reunions, virtual programs, affinity and regional gatherings. </li><li>Coordinate the production and scheduling of all alumni communications in alignment with institutional calendars and advancement initiatives. </li><li>Lead the establishment of an Alumni Legacy Society, including program design, member recognition, and ongoing engagement strategies. </li><li>Track and report on alumni engagement metrics: event attendance, email response rates, volunteer involvement, social media interactions, and use these insights to inform strategies for sustained growth. </li></ul> <p>Additional Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with departments across campus, such as Athletics and Student Affairs to support alumni-related events like Homecoming, Reunion and/or affinity events, Hall of Fame inductions, and other return-to-campus occasions. </li><li>Develop and maintain the alumni engagement calendar and oversee promotional strategies for key milestones, including reunion and anniversary events and initiatives. </li><li>Maintain and update alumni engagement records in collaboration with the Advancement operations team to ensure accurate data for communications and reporting. </li><li>Ensure inclusive representation in alumni storytelling and outreach, highlighting and celebrating the diversity of the alumni experience. </li><li>Recruit and support alumni volunteers, class representatives, and affinity group leaders as needed for campus initiatives and/or events. </li><li>Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or their designee. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree. </li><li>3-5 years of experience in alumni relations, advancement communications, or donor engagement. </li><li>Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills. </li><li>Strong project management skills. </li><li>Familiarity with CRM or donor database systems. </li><li>Familiarity with social media tools and audience development </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>5-8 years of experience in alumni relations, advancement communications, or donor engagement. </li><li>Experience managing digital communication platforms. </li><li>Knowledge of alumni lifecycle engagement and volunteer coordination. </li><li>Experience creating and managing affinity or legacy programs. </li><li>Comfort analyzing engagement metrics and adjusting strategies accordingly. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and community representation. </li><li>Demonstrated success in growing digital audience related to alumni or donor relations. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$65,000 to $70,000 annually</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Curry College will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity.
