<p>This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.</p> <p>The Iowa Insurance Division's Market Regulation Bureau is seeking an Insurance Examiner 1 to oversee regulation of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and related entities.</p> <p>The Insurance Examiner 1 will be responsible for the following:</p> <p> • Perform market conduct examinations and analysis related to Pharmacy Benefit Managers.</p> <p> • Conduct interviews and hold discussions with regulated entities, individuals and policyholders.</p> <p> • Respond to requests for general information regarding insurance law requirements and administrative rules.</p> <p> • Analyze, evaluate and interpret contracts, written agreements and facts, such as insurance policy provisions and legal contracts.</p> <p> • Prepare and analyze financial statements and market data call reports.</p> <p> • Determine fair treatment of policyholders and claimants.</p> <p> • Participate in state, multi-state or state-federal task forces and committees.</p> <p> • Maintain compliance with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners ("NAIC") Market Regulation Certification Program.</p> <p>Successful candidates will demonstrate:</p> <p> • A strong foundation in health insurance or pharmaceutical related areas or ability to acquire this skill set.</p> <p> • Attention to detail.</p> <p> • Ability to meet critical timeframes.</p> <p> • Intellectual and conceptual ability to think critically in order to make decisions, which includes measuring, calculating, reasoning, analyzing, prioritizing and synthesizing data.</p> <p> • Maintain effective, respectful working relationships with regulated entities and individuals, trade associations, and legislators.</p> <p> • Complete multiple tasks accurately and within assigned periods.</p> <p> • Ability to document adequate notes to record actions and the information gathered to document work performed.</p> <p> • Proficient in use of personal computers, peripheral equipment and various software packages, including the Microsoft Office Suite and Google platforms.</p> <p>Successful candidates will demonstrate:</p> <p>The ability to document adequate notes to record actions and the information gathered to document work performed.</p> <p>And also be proficient in use of personal computers, peripheral equipment and various software packages, including the Microsoft Office Suite and Google platforms</p> <p>NOTE: Pharmacy experience is preferred</p> <p>The Iowa Insurance Division offers a strong team culture and a respect for work-life balance.
