This position maintains appropriate inventory levels to ensure that cement shipments satisfy customers' needs.</p> <p>What you'll be contributing:</p> <ul> <li>Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. </li><li>Coordinates all inbound and outbound cement shipments, including all bulk ship, rail, truck, and barge traffic. </li><li>Assisted the operations manager in managing all terminal personnel, including hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and assigning duties. </li><li>Supervises and/or participates in the unloading of cement from ships, hopper cars, bulk trucks, and barging activities in a cost-effective manner. </li><li>Supervises and/or participates in loading bulk trucks and barges. Coordinates and operates a computerized loading system. </li><li>Supervises and participates when needed in the maintenance and repair of the terminal, including equipment, buildings, and terminal grounds. </li><li>Maintains grounds by mowing the grass, keeping debris from collecting along fences, and maintaining maritime and traffic access lanes. Monitors the security of the terminal property. </li><li>Assisted in purchasing parts and supplies for the terminal in a cost-effective manner. Maintains appropriate inventory levels. </li><li>Maintains proper certifications for state inspectors, marine, and USCG authorities. </li><li>Orders cement and ensures an appropriate amount is stored at the terminal to satisfy customer demand in a cost-efficient manner. </li><li>Assists ready-mix concrete subsidiaries in coordinating their deliveries. </li><li>Maintains proper certifications for state inspectors. </li><li>Assists in the daily opening and closing of computerized reports, such as the daily shipping report. </li><li>Provides quality customer service and assists customers with any concerns regarding the product, service, or personnel involved in the purchase and shipment of cement. </li><li>Enforces safety guidelines and regulations to promote a safe working environment. </li><li>Assists in preparing a weekly written report concerning inventory levels and any problems or concerns concerning terminal operations. </li><li>Assists in coordinating the shipments of portable silos and barges when needed and maintains portable silos and barges when located on terminal grounds. </li><li>Collaborates with sales personnel regarding credit status and approval, specified pricing, purchase orders, COD deliveries, etc. </li><li>Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>To succeed in this position, you will need:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. </li><li>Minimum High School Diploma or GED required </li><li>Minimum 2 Year / Associate's Degree in operations or related field </li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience in the operations of a cement terminal or terminal in a related industry. </li><li>Ability to work under general supervision with specified directives, policies, and procedures </li><li>Ability to refer to supervisor when faced with unusual problems </li><li>Ability to supervise terminal personnel </li><li>Proficient in English, written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to lead/manage others and coordinate activities with others </li><li>Knowledge of all terminal policies and procedures as well as plant operations.
