Springer serves the community through four pillars: Springer Lower School and Middle School (grades 1-8), Springer High School (grades 9, 10, 11), Springer Diagnostic Center, and Springer Learning Center. Springer faculty and staff embrace the organization's mission and incorporate the core values of student growth/development, staff expertise/development, partnership, communication, and stability in their daily work.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Middle School Director leads the middle school, fostering a positive school culture and overseeing daily operations. This role ensures student growth by supporting faculty in differentiated instruction and addressing both academic and social-emotional needs. The director manages student behavior, communicates with families, evaluates staff, and collaborates with administrators on initiatives like scheduling, program fidelity, and staff recruitment, all while embodying the organization's core values of growth, partnership, and stability.</p> <p>Job Goals</p> <ul> <li>Foster, develop and maintain a positive school culture that will be felt, heard and experienced throughout the entire school community. </li><li>Oversee the day-to-day management of the middle school including addressing student behaviors, communicating with families, and supporting and evaluating faculty. </li><li>Coordinate with administrators on school-wide needs such as developing the master schedule, maintaining program fidelity and recruiting staff. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree. </li><li>Demonstrated experience creating a positive school culture. </li><li>Proficiency in managing and using data to guide decisions for student programs. </li><li>Excellent communication, leadership, organization and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Embraces multi-cultural thinking and appreciates diverse perspectives. </li><li>Ability to secure all relevant and necessary clearances. </li></ul> <p>Additional Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in School Administration, Special Education or a related area. </li><li>Independent or public school teaching experience. </li><li>Independent or public school leadership experience. </li><li>Experience working with students diagnosed with learning disabilities. </li><li>Experience utilizing technology to support student learning. </li></ul> <p>Key Characteristics: Intelligent, responsive, level-headed, flexible and compassionate.</p> <p>Terms of Employment: Full-time, 10 months per year with a modified summer schedule.</p> <p>How to Apply: Qualified applicants should email a resume, cover letter and employment application (found on the Springer employment page) to dhoughton@springer-ld.org.
