The Phlebotomist shall be responsible for appropriate clerical and computer documentation associated with specimen collection requirements.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately and within established turn-around times. </li><li>Recognizes abnormal, unexpected situations and investigates prior to delivering specimen to the testing area. </li><li>Transports specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner. </li><li>Answers phone calls and provides information in a courteous and professional manner. </li><li>Monitors specimen integrity. </li><li>Enters patient orders accurately in Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems. </li><li>Assures documentation for medical necessity. </li><li>Follow standards of safety dictated by the laboratory, the hospital, and regulatory agencies. </li><li>Contributes to the efficient operation of the laboratory. </li><li>Participates in continuing education programs for the upgrade of educational experience. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by laboratory leadership. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>CPR certification through American Heart Association </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Phlebotomy certification </li></ul> <p>Benefits & Perks</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Pay & Benefits Options </li><li>Paid Vacation, Sick days, and Holidays </li><li>Free tuition to UofL for Part- and Full-time employees for Child/Spouse/Domestic Partner </li><li>401K with Employer Match </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>#LI-DNI</p>
