<p>Close All</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The University of Colorado, Boulder's Health and Wellness Services team is accepting applications for a Temporary Acupuncturist! This position will deliver comprehensive acupuncture services in accordance with the Acupuncture Practice Act, delivering treatments rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. Care will be guided by acupuncture diagnosis and treatment principles, complemented by adjunctive therapies to support CU's health and wellness efforts.</p> <p>This role is based within a college health center's multidisciplinary unit, serving students as well as faculty and staff. The position emphasizes integrative approaches to orthopedic and general health concerns, fostering a supportive environment for the campus community.</p> <p>The schedule for this position will be Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00am - 5:00pm. H&WS departments include Medical Services, Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Disability Services, Health Promotion, Administrative Services, Office of Victims Assistance, Testing Center, and Faculty and Staff Assistance Program.</p> <p>What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be</p> <p>Scope of Practice</p> <ul> <li>Perform acupuncture needle insertion and related therapeutic techniques. </li><li>Provide herbal and adjunctive therapies and dietary guidance to improve patient outcomes. </li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to support integrative care. </li></ul> <p>Patient Care</p> <ul> <li>Perform acupuncture based treatments and educate patients on present condition(s). </li><li>Teach preventative aspects of self-care to facilitate and maintain a higher level of wellness. </li><li>Complete accurate and timely EHR documentation and charges for all patient interactions. </li><li>Communicate / collaborate with other health care providers (internal and external). </li><li>Incorporate clinical expertise, patient values, and current best evidence into daily clinical practice. </li></ul> <p>Administrative</p> <ul> <li>Attend OIC department and Medical Services (MS) meetings and committee activities. </li><li>Participate in diversity events and programs. </li><li>Engage in peer reviews of colleagues and quality improvement activities. </li><li>Understand the working operations of MS and the Health and Well-being division of CU Boulder. </li><li>Participate in policy and procedure developing, drafting, editing, and revising as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties</p> <ul> <li>Attend and actively participate in departmental and organizational meetings. </li><li>Contribute to ancillary projects and outreach events. </li><li>Support the mission of Integrative Care through collaboration and University engagement. </li></ul> <p>What You Should Know</p> <ul> <li>The acupuncture provider will hold a temporary appointment for the Spring Semester to assess student and staff demand for services, with the potential to transition into a more permanent role based on demonstrated need. </li><li>Workdays: Mondays and Thursdays </li><li>Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (aligned with Medical Services' standard hours) </li><li>Calendar: Schedule will follow the official university academic calendar, including holidays and breaks. </li><li>Length of appointment: Appointment is anticipated to last through the spring semester ending May 2, 2026; potential to resume in the Fall semester as a permanent University Staff position. </li><li>This arrangement provides consistent availability twice per week while allowing flexibility for future expansion should demand warrant a permanent position. </li><li>Eligible for clinical privileges as determined by the MS Credentialing and Privileging Department. </li></ul> <p>What We Can Offer</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $41.39 - $48 per hour.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.</p> <p>Be Statements</p> <p>Be engaged. Be Boulder.</p> <p>What We Require</p> <ul> <li>Acupuncture license with State of Colorado by the date of hire. </li><li>Certification by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) </li><li>Graduate from accredited acupuncture program with one of the following: </li><li>Masters of Acupuncture (M.Ac.) </li><li>Master of Oriental Medicine (MSOM) </li><li>Doctorate of Oriental Medicine (DAOM) </li><li>Minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed Acupuncturist. </li><li>Ability to obtain BLS Certificate within 3 months of hire. </li></ul> <p>What You Will Need</p> <ul> <li>Basic functional computer skills (experience with Windows based systems). </li><li>Proven communication, customer service and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>What We Would Like You to Have</p> <p>Previous EHR experience and proven skills for treating a college-aged population.</p> <p>Special Instructions</p> <p>To apply, please submit the following materials:</p> <ul> <li>A current resume. </li><li>A cover letter that specifically tells us how your background and experience align with the requirements, qualifications, and responsibilities of the position. </li></ul> <p>We may request references at a later time.</p> <p>Please apply by January 5, 2026 for consideration.</p> <p>Note: Application materials will not be accepted via email.
