If you love performing and making people happy, this is your chance to shine!</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform at all home games for the Toledo Walleye or Toledo Mud Hens, as well as community and team appearances scheduled by the supervisor. This includes but is not limited to sponsors, charities, media and private functions. </li><li>Represent a Nationally recognized brand and organization, while portraying a positive image in the community/media. </li><li>Responsible for managing and maintaining all mascot equipment including props and costumes. </li><li>Read social cues to understand the level of engagement each fan may want. </li><li>Preserve the identity of the mascot and follow an established character playbook including mannerisms, body language, attitude, fan interaction and team representation at all times. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Skills</p> <ul> <li>Previous mascot experience and skating experience are preferred but not required. </li><li>Must be friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic. </li><li>Ability to analyze and interpret common social expressions. </li><li>Ability to execute a number of tasks at the same time and working well under pressure. </li><li>Ability to carry out detailed written/oral/diagram form instructions. </li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to present self in a professional manner to interact with fans of all ages, sponsors, guests, players. </li><li>Energetic and outgoing personality. </li><li>Approaches and engages the community in a professional and friendly manner. </li></ul> <p>Working Environment</p> <ul> <li>Occasionally lifting promotional items and props needed, weighing up to 20 pounds. </li><li>Constantly carrying the weight of the uniform, either wearing the costume or carrying the costume to events, up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, etc. for the duration of the shift. </li><li>Game days will be outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain. </li><li>Constantly performing in restrictive outfits with impaired vision. </li></ul>
