With multiple automated multi-axis CNC machines, we engineer repeatable results for the aerospace, defense, and firearms sectors.</p> <p>We earn repeat business by knowing the smartest way to make complex parts and backing it up with consistent quality.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>As a 5-Axis CNC Setup Machinist, you'll be responsible for preparing complex jobs for production on multi-axis DMG Mori machining centers. This includes building setups, verifying tooling and workholding, and ensuring the machining process runs reliably and efficiently.</p> <p>Many of our jobs involve complex geometry and multi-axis machining, making this role a strong fit for machinists who enjoy challenging setups and problem-solving.</p> <p>This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in building clean, repeatable setups and solving machining challenges. You'll work closely with programmers and other machinists to bring new jobs online and keep production moving.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centers for complex parts </li><li>Install and verify tooling, fixtures, and workholding for new jobs </li><li>Prove out programs and troubleshoot machining issues during setup </li><li>Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T to verify setups meet part requirements </li><li>Make offsets and adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy </li><li>Inspect first pieces and verify conformance before releasing jobs to production </li><li>Collaborate with programmers and supervisors to improve machining processes </li><li>Maintain organized setups and prepare machines for the next job </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>4+ years of CNC machining experience with significant setup responsibilities </li><li>Experience independently setting up 5-axis milling or mill/turn machines </li><li>Strong ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T </li><li>Experience troubleshooting machining processes and resolving issues independently </li><li>Familiarity with precision inspection tools (micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, etc.) </li><li>Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership for quality and efficiency </li><li>Meet the definition of a U.S. Person, as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) </li></ul> <p>Nice to Have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with multi-axis machining centers (DMG Mori or similar) </li><li>Exposure to lights-out automation or robotic part handling </li><li>Experience with in-process probing routines </li><li>Experience with complex fixtures or multi-part setups </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <ul> <li>Work with modern equipment designed for complex machining </li><li>Collaborate with programmers and engineers to make challenging parts </li><li>Join a company that values craftsmanship, precision, and technology </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>KLH Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
